Title: Sleeving a H23

I had a honed and cleaned block w/ crank, eagle rods (still in the box), JE pistons, h23 head, SSautocrap turbo mani. w/ standard 5-bolt downpipe, transmission, cv-axles for an EG, and motor mounts also fo an EG, all given to me for getting a d15 and cx put in a '94 4dr Civic.

I can sell this whole setup to a local for a good price if I get the block sleeved.

Since I can get stuff machined for next to nothing, I was wondering where can I get some cheap sleeves and what is the correct way to install these sleeves.

I know I can buy Egay shit but when I was working at a parts I called the local engine machine shops and they want about $500 to install melling dry sleeves. But I figure if I can buy the sleeves for about $100 and get the machine work done in the foundry I work at then I could make some more.

I talked to one machine shop that says that they leave a small step at the bottom after boring out the old sleeve to keep the sleave from shifting down. 

Then just get the sleeve rally cold then slip them in and then bore and hone to size you want.

Can anybody confirm this?

Are there any good places that I can get these sleeve for even cheaper?

Any better ideas?

I'm pretty sure you can buy Darton sleeves and http://www.dartonsleeves.com/Honda%20Manual.pdf (http://www.dartonsleeves.com/Honda%20Manual.pdf) there is the manual.

Darton sleeves for $200+ no I think I can find a better deal with melling sleeves.

Just call up ERL and pay what they ask, or better yet find an already sleeved H22 block.  I've only seen crap come out of having someone who doesn't have a vested interest in the Honda scene install sleeves, it always ends badly and the price isn't much different.

FYI, Melling only makes an OE-replacement drop in that comes in Honda sizes.  Pass.
