Alright. I finally got the ball rolling again with my build on the CRX. its been 2+ years and with the new baby makes it hard.

ARP headstuds from Lightning Motorsports (they sold the kit with 1 y8 stud for the swap. They actually shipped me 2 sets on accident. dont know what to do about the second one)

Stock Y8 intake mani (may send this to chris to try to work some magic with it)
Mars Galaxy spec 4 puck unsprung disc (custom piece. 21 spline count hub with a 212mm disc)

I tried using a z6 dizzy and I a hard time getting the ignition to work (look at the front page b/c of the use of vise grips). :-[ ::) ;D
I was told to use a y8 dizzy with z6 electronics to make it work. :)

i had an a6 dizzy that i was going to use for it but i needed the money and sold it for $50.
im still debating on converting to obd1. im pretty sure that i will use an a6/b6 dizzy

the intake mani gasket that came with the kit didnt fit too well and the ports on the gasket were screwy and blocking the ports partially on the head. I just had to order an edelbrock intake mani gasket for a y8 part number 15005 from kragen for $6. looks like a decent piece.

y8 head uses the 16 valve non vtec sohc bolt pattern
so you need for obd1 a d15b7/d15b8 dost for bolt on action

Also if you stumble on a y8 dist all you have to do is have a set of obd1 dist plugs and you can repin the obd2 dist to obd1 pins. Internals are the same
Hence why when you convert an obd2 car to obd1 all you need

Tube and fin has less flow restriction the bar and plate, but is not quite as efficient at expelling heat. It is also typically lighter. Extruded tube is the way to roll.

He's a shady businessman (place an order for a turbo kit, wait a year to get 2/3rds of the kit and then nothing else not even support), a theif (Allen from the jyturbo list loaned him his NSX Helms manual, and then Corky went out of his way to avoid him when any attempts were made to collect it. You need to refer to the back to back tests done on HT in '02-03 where Full Rice Geoff claimed that the less restrictive bar and plate ICs (you got it backwards, BTW) would make more power with equal cooling. Come to find out he was off by something like 40-60 whp at the 500 whp level, and the more restrictive IC did a far better job of cooling since it had actual surface area with which to enforce thermal transfer. It was a fine moment in bandwagon tail tucking history.

that was the route that i was going to go but my electronic boost gauge works off of a gm 3 bar

i didnt want to run 7:1 compression with vitaras so i went with the custom length rods and y8 head. i think im about 8.6:1

motor is all buttoned up.
pan tapped, oil lines run. harness is on the motor. all thats left is charge piping, DP, axles and this shit is ready to rock.
i did notice something that sounded weird. im not sure if it was piston slap or what...
i cranked the motor straight from the starter to make sure oil was getting to the turbo and the head. i heard a bit of clunking. i think it could be from the trans because i dont have axles and the fucker is bone dry.
i need to adjust the valves and put fluid in the trans and we will see...
there is super sloppy p2w in this bitch. i believe .006 lol...

When it won't start spray the dist housing directly outside of the ignitor with freon, starting fluid, ice cubes, etc. If it's the ignitor, the temp change will make it work again.
If you smell fuel, you are cranking WOT to try and clear it out, right?

the best thing you can do is swap all engine management stuff with known good parts until it clears up. ecu, map sensor, tps, wiring harness, injectors, etc. (NOT IN THAT ORDER, just making a point)

im using my buddies main relay off of his perfectly running DA. I think it maybe an injector leaking or giving too much fuel when its cold. I think it may have to do with my basemap as well......

Timing would be super hard. dont think you would be able to turn it on.

It should idle. Too much timing for a turbo D in boost, but it might just bog and choke from the too much fuel if you tried.

Dont dump all that fuel in the cylinders your rings wont be happy. I personally would break the motor in on motor/stock injectors/stock ecu

If you just want to leave the turbo on, then put a check valve in the wg line so the wg is always open and run your stock injectors/ecu that way, or just set the boost cut at 1 psi.

i went from 11.5 @ 116 to 11.3 @ 120 by leaning it out from 10.9 to 11.5

Chris, Paul and I made 672 whp and 545wtq at 26 Psi on e85. I ran out of piss for the piss injection so we couldnt make any more pulls.
I maybe tearing the motor apart for some super beefy OCZC Rods from Tom and also a Front facing manifold.
