Title: Anyone Know about Subaru 4EAT's?
Post by: 88dx on September 21, 2009, 01:01:22 AM
So i cant get the Tq converter back into a 4EAT transmission. I think my problem is that the input shaft slid out a bit but dont know for sure and it dosent want to go back in either if its out. So dose anyone have any info on thses, or know how far the input shaft is suppose to stick out?

How would the imput shaft slide out a bit?

Only auto trans' I've ever fucked with have been Honda's.  Sometimes oddys torque convertors wont slide on kinda have to push and turn and wiggle it.

This is prob no help to you/

The inner shaft has to go through the stator in the converter.  Just keep wiggling it, sometimes it helps to stand the trans on end and shake the converter around til the stator lines up. Thats all slushomatics though.  If yours isnt that problem then fuck you I dunno.

im pretty sure its the input-shaft sticking out too far not allowing the pump tangs to line up. I talked to a subaru tech today and said the input should just wiggle and slide back into place but that dosent happen either. So IDK if i damaged the splines on something thats not allowing it to go back it or what but its not going  >:(

OK finally got the input shaft to slide in, but god dam did it take a lot of bad words and wiggling. Now the Tq converter just slides in like normal to the correct depth

Stevey, everytime I drop a TQ convereter on the ground they never like to go back in. As you mentioned above, alot of cussing, pushing and wiggling.

you rolling a Subaru...? lol
