help with RRFPR
« on: May 17, 2010, 07:34:43 AM »

I am trying to setup the fuel pressure using the Begi RRFPR and this is the equation they give to set it up.
I do not understand they they got the 1.41 number for the boost pressure ratio for in the expamle?  is this a static number or a calulated number??

Pressure calculation: the fuel pressure required increases with the square of the boost pressure ratio:
Example: 6 psi boost is a pressure ratio of 1.41. With stock fuel pressure of 36 at zero boost, than:
Needed fuel pressure = ( PR2 x 36) + boost = (1.412 x 36) + 6 = 77.5 psi

Mike, 0 psi of boost is a pressure ratio of 1 (1 atmoshpere in BAR)

6 psi / 1 BAR (14.5 psi) = 0.41, then add the 1 bar of atmospheric pressure and you get 0.41 + 1 = 1.41

Take whatever boost pressure you want, find the pressure ratio and put it in the formula.

Example:
8 psi / 14.5 psi = 0.55 BAR

0.55 BAR + 1 BAR = pressure ratio of 1.55 (PR2 in your formula)
