ive got a 97 cx
and a 93 del slow
both need "shift rods"
can i swap them between the 2 E.G. stuff the 92-95 in a 96+ ???
internet search is showing contradictory results on the matter
im hoping the almighty RHMT nogs can shine a bit of light on this
majestic shows 2 diff part numbers and minor differences and being a cheap ass i dont wanna spend $120ish on the 96+ one versus the $61 shipped on the 92-95 one
96-00 part #12

also i know about using the steering shaft pivot joint to repair the slopped out ones
im just to fucking lazy to cut and weld the shit together
id prolly fuck up the alignment somehow and have to buy new anyways
PS thank you and fuck off
-
well i know that you cant swap Bseries ones between the 2 chassis, so i have always assumed you couldnt swap Dseries also...
-
send the linkage off to have the steering joint added.
-
i have modded shifters for various swaps. its pretty easy. be a proper Jew and just mod/fix one
-
for what it would cost to send it out to have the steering joint installed i could buy a pair of 92-95 linkages :'(
maybe ill just hook up on the 92-95 one and see what it will take to put it in there
and im sure someone has a pair of linkages floating around they can compare
-
Del sol has an oddball shift linkage. I think it's longer since it's actualy w/in reach for taller ppl and higher.
Personally I like to cut the linkages a little shorter, and angle the lever to the left about 10 degrees. Makes shifting for non-asian/non-midgets drivers easier. It's very easy to do.

I broke my aluminum short shifter after 8yrs., so I replaced it with a del slow shifter.
The shifter is even shorter than my old aluminum shifter, works great when I have the Del slow seats but feels wierd with stock CX seats. :noel:

I actually ment the linkage, not the lever.

The Del slo linkage I had was the same length, just bent weirder. :noel:
-
does anyone have some to compare side by side
if they are the same length i dont get why they wouldnt interchange other then ive read the 96+ one has a bend to avoid the downstream O2 sensor
-
said fuck it and bought the 92-95 linkage for $60.who gives a fuck shipped
once i have it in hand ill compare it with a 96+ linkage
-
Somehow I read delsol and stopped paying attention for the most part. I have swapped a 96-00 D tranny with linkage into an eg. It worked fine.
-
so after some time between working 55 hours a week and me being fucking lazy i tossed the new del sol linkage in the 97
interchange is a go on them
direct swap easy peasy anus easy O0
