When its cold my car is shooting past the 18 I've been running all summer and hitting 22 psi boost cut.
Closed loop is enabled
Should I be messing with overshoot sensitivity, duty compensation maps, or closeloop compensation maps?
I'm running boost by gear 12, 15, 18, 18, 18
It holds in 1st and 2nd pretty well but not when I did a big burnout last night.
It pretty instantly overshoots in 3rd or above

Whats your fast spool duty and WG activation set to?
-
The cold air may require different values for your duty lookup map or "Correction P" in the closed loop comp map. It's been a while since I messed with it though.
Try using a fixed duty from your duty lookup map that's a little above your wastegate pressure. If that duty gives you far more boost than what the chart says it should, you need to lower the values. You can apply more correction by increasing the closed loop "correction p" too, but that can lead to wandering boost if your duty lookup map is wrong. My car would get 15psi in the summer and 19psi in the fall with the same duty %.
-
Keep forgetting to check those settings danz
Tom suggested I pull 5% from my duty lookup
I've been driving around but the roads have been too shitty to get a good test
Just blows off the tires even on dry roads from all the salt and cinders
-
sounds like a PID issue
-
Look up the shit I asked and post up what you got in there.
Ive been around the block with eCtune BBG.
-
I have the same issue. I want to be able to tune the temp correction factor, but looking back on data logs from the days when I set the duty cycle lookup map, there wasn't a big difference in the AIT compared to the diff in ambient temp. I think I need to move my AIT sensor.

Quickspool duty cycle
-
ebc activation 1.96 psi
fast spool duty is 58DC%
wg activation is 10.01 PSI
-
Fast duty should be either 100 or 0, depending how u have it hooked up.
What is your EBC target method? Gear based I assume? If so, take a screen shot of your Duty Lookup Maps, Gear Based target maps, and Duty Compensation maps.
Try lowering your WG Activation to 8psi. Or there abouts. That will help not overshooting first and 2nd.
-
Have you checked to make sure your WG is still ok? ie just run a vac line and see what it does.

I agree with this, but...
op: "When its cold my car is shooting past the 18 I've been running all summer and hitting 22 psi boost cut."
"I'm running boost by gear 12, 15, 18, 18, 18"
it looks like he is talking about 3rd+ in the first post.
I know on my car, ambient temp makes a big difference in how much boost a certain duty cycle makes. For instance, in the winter 25% duty makes roughly 12psi, in the summer it takes 35%+duty cycle to make the same 12 psi.
I know there is a table for a IAT correction factor, like I said before my IAT's are not necessarily a good representation of the ambient temp. I'm guessing IM heat soak has something to do with this.

Does your closeloop work? you should have values in the closedloop comp map.
-
Honda ECU based boost by gear is a temperature change nightmare.
-
Why? Are other types of ecus better?
-
If EBC corrections are implemented differently, sure they can be better. But all OEMs copy aftermarket OBD1 Honda code, they run the exact same stuff, uh huh, I wouldn't lie to you much.
-
The sarcasm is strong with this one.
