Yeah, there's a lot to be said for enjoying the car now. Converting to EFI isn't that big of a deal with a lot of affordable used parts being more or less bolt-on, but the down time during prime cruising weather is dumb.

I'd keep my ear to the ground for a cheap TPI setup now, in fact go ahead and make some noise about it. You'd be surprised who has old 3G F-body junk laying around, who'd like to see you do something cool with some old iron and kick it to you.

Make sure the TB shaft isn't slopped completely out, seems to be a problem with the high mileage units. You can probably grade entirely on the cleanliness of the IM, though.

Well I've been driving the car for 3 weeks now. Burned through my first tank of gas. It was all in town driving. Got a whopping 8mpg. But I don't really care. Just fun to drive. Not the 19mpg I get on the hwy.

Only thing that's boosted since the last time I posted in this thread is the miles on the odomiter. Just been driving it and cruising around. Gonna take it for a spin in the morning. The plan for this winter is to get a Tpi fuel injection setup bolted on and a cam and some valve train and then possably boost it come next summer.

Those tpi setups worth the effort? I have an 89 camaro with a carbed 400 I was thinking of going back to a stock Ecu tpi setup

I am going to make an honest judgement that for a healthy 400 the tpi is a tad small and restrictive.

Pics of it sitting in the garage collecting dust for the last 3 months? It's half way decent outside and I suspect that I'll be daily driving it here soon Once my teg gets sold. Going to a auto parts swap meet next month. And then after that I'll bust out a little work on it. I got a variable speed buffer and a bunch of different cutting and polishing pads for it for xmas. Gonna see if I can't polish this turd up. Have a pretty good feeling that it's gonna make the body of the car look terrible. Gonna show every ding and dent.

thats a twin china/cxracing 16g LQ9...think he said it made like 580fttq. at like 8psi.... if a drift kid can do that (well it did catch fire) you should be able to also

So I'm picking up some headers off of Craigslist on monday. They are a pair of ceramic coated headman headers. They retail for $400 and they have less than 100 miles on them. They are specific for this car because of the funky front end. Then the plan is to pick up a tpi intake manifold next month and my step dad has a extra ms2 that I'm going to use to fuel and spark. Gonna pick up a China 044 pump and sump the tank and run a new line up front and use the stock fuel line as the return. Looking to do all this under $500 and rock it that way for the year as this is Gina be my new daily driver. Then next summer I'm gonna boost the 327.

Well its no longer gonna be my daily driver like I had planed. Picked up a 96 accord to daily so I can actually work on this thing. Ted hooked me up with a tpi intake and some sort if ecu thing. So now i need to get fuel setup and then i can piling parts on. Sold my teg now I just have to clean the garage and start cranking on this. Weather is getting a little better and garage time is gonna start happening. I picked up a pack and play for my 6 month old son to hang out in while we are in the garage. Got to start teaching him how to wrench on things while hes young.

044 Fuel pump, sump pan, 100 micron fuel filter(pre pump), and intake manifold gasket set has been ordered. Now I just need to get the garage clean and I can start mocking up fuel lines and order my fittings and hose.

So I found a deal on some -8 braided line on amazon. Got 35' coming my way. Once it shows up I can plumb everything where I need and order up fittings. Fittings and a stock fuel filter is all I need to get me going. Should have this bitch running in a month or 2.
