Well fuck. Just got a email saying they aren't gonna ship my braided line because of some fuck up on there end. So I'm back to looking for some -8 an braided line. Probably just pick up a couple 5' sticks of hard line and then just get some braided line to hook to the ends so I'm running braided the whole way.

Think that's the plan now. It's just that the braided I was getting  was so cheap that I was like fuck it I'll run it the whole way.

So I need some 1/2" fuel line. Ive look quite a few places and the only thing Ive found is alum hard line in 1/2" or braided. All the Alum says its not rated for hi pressure. So wtf do I use? Do i have to use braided then or do you guys know of an alternative that's budget friendly?

I would be ok with that but finding 1/2" ss line for a decent price is retarded. I found it for $72 for 20'. At that price for what it cost to straighten it out and then go through all the bs I might as well buy braided. Summit and jegs doesnt sell ss hard line in 1/2"

Ok so instead of taking 20 pics and telling you what each one of the things I ordered was I'll just post a mass pic

So from left to right
spool Of 1/2" nylon fuel line step dad had it so I didn't have to pay anyrhing for it. Cost..... Free :)

-8an Compression fittings for fuel lines.
$18 shipped for both
Bosch 044 fuel pump
$75 shipped
2, -8an fitting for fuel pump
$12 shipped
Some steel core rubber valve cover gaskets
$12 shipped
Got a steel sump pan with 2, 1/2" npt fittings
$40 shipped
2, 1/2" npt alum plugs $5 shipped
Then I picked up a stand alone fuse gang to run any accessory I need like fuel pump or ecu radio ect....

Some valve cover bolt spreaders to help the valve covers from leaking

picked up a complete early tpi fuel injection intake manifold

Got a sbc dizzy with pertronix setup already installed for
$10 and it came with a free coil
got the waterneck for the intake

Ted is letting me borrow a mefi4 ecu setup to run this untill i pony up the money to buy a mega squirt or find a stock ecu and harness


And a full intake manifold set. $25

So if I just counted right I got about $273 into it so far. Probably need to spend about another $50 for a few fittings and some other mis shit. Now if I could just come up with time to put it all on.

So I forgot to post this pic up. Here is the headers I scored that are specific to the novas because of the rear steering. Picked them up from a guy on cl back in January for $50 and they are even ceramic coated.  He upgraded to 1.75" primary tube headers

is that manifold off a camaro/firebird or corvette?

only the corvette one will fit the old style heads, thats why the camaro/firebird ones are so cheap. usually the corvette ones are ~$300 for just the manifold

Yeah its only 2 bolt holes. And I sure the fuck can hog them bitches to the Wright angle if I need to but they are not the straight drilled holes like the others I've seen. So idk maybe this unit is off of a vet.

Well life has been crazy busy. Won't be injected in time for the dyno day, just ordered up some locking header bolts, a new power valve and a power valve saver kit. Gonna pull the carb this weekend and slam that in and clean it and try and bolt the headers on. Might end up running open headers to the dyno day if I don't get the exhaust done in time. Fuck it will get done what I get done. Also go to throw my pertronix and a flex fan or a clutch fan on. These are my goal anyways.

Soooooo........ This last weekend was a big fail. Car ran great in the fall when I parked it. Started it in Feb and wouldn't run worth a fuck. Figured on of the backfires killed the power valve. So I pulled the carb cleaned everything up and slapped a new power valve in. Went to put the carb back on and in that time my brother in law pulled the exhaust and the cast manifolds off to slap the headers that are specific for this chassis. And of course they don't fit worth a fuck.  If I only want to turn right they are fine. Otherwise the pitman arm slams into the collector. On the pass side I can't even bolt it down because it's hard against the frame. Fml.... pulled them off put the stock cast manis back on and exhaust back on. Fire it up and it still runs like shit. Won't stay running below 2500rpms. Figure out that the points are probably fucked. I had a used pertronix ignitor setup so I slapped it in and did a temp wiring to the batt real quick. Fired right up and runs ok. Now it won't idle down below 1200. So I'm gonna pull the carb back off and see if I can't check my transition slots make sure my blades art bound and see what the fuck is up with this 4 hole toilet. Have a guy I know looking to buy a bunch of chevy parts. Told him I would sell all my extra chevy stuff that I have laying around for $600. I'll take that and a little extra that I have laying around and just buy a lsx and fucking be done with this carb small block bullshit. Sometimes I don't understand why I don't just go straight to the finish line and do what I want in the first place instead of building shit over and over and eventually getting to what I want. In the mean time once it's running I'm just gonna drive it.


Cliffs..... carb rebuilt, points suck, headers don't fit, back to the drawing board, FUCK YOU!

Looks like I might have a lead on a complete 1999 lq4 with cathedral port heads, a full wiring harness, ecu, bcm, ls1 intake and a truck intake for $600. Needs a full gasket set. Guy I know got it pulled the heads for inspection of everything and he said it all looks good and just needs to be slapped back together. I will have to wait and see.
