Fabricating turbo intake manifold
« on: November 30, 2013, 12:37:35 PM »

I am making a turbo intake manifold my question is should i make my runners match the cylinder heads ports or will increasing the size of the runners diameter cause an issue if it is bigger then the cylinder heads diameter?

There is a lot of science into a intake mani, you have much reading to do to get it "right" anything will work but small changes can make differences, boost helps level the field though

Intake manifold design is incredibly variable. So many small things affect how the engine reacts to it. It seems though, the more boost you run the less there is to it. It becomes huge plenum, with short runners.

yea noob post i did that, sent it in to be reviewed.
Understandably there are tons of calculations to create a custom intake but being i have no other choice since I have a space issues.  The manifold portion is already made and was built for stock runner diameter.
My question is really being that the car is turbo charged will increasing the size of the runners (say 1.5 to 1.7 cause an issue being that its force fed.

Well of course I am lying sounds like a cult command drink the the "Kool-aid" before further assistance.  I get you probably want an introduction to make sure your not wasting your time responding to an imaginary car but then again who would ask intake manifold runner diameter as a question for an imaginary car, is this noob post really necessary?

It has nothing to do with you being imaginary, it has to do with you providing us with porn to be accepted and get answers. We have all learned by doing here, we aren't giving that shit away for free

Sounds like a joke, if you had so much info then I wouldn't see why i have to post porn to prove nothing to you.  Been on many other forums never had to deal with this Baloney.

I am not posting any noob post/porn(use google there's plenty), if someone has an opinion to my question so be it if not then stays unanswered.

It is tradition and this is not a forum, more like a gang.  :noel:

We usually just pile up on noobs until self delete or they post accordingly.

Here is a good example of what we are talking about.

If you can not follow this than maybe this forum is not the right place for you.  :?:

It was a question not a SAT, wouldn't want someone to try so hard.  Its not like anyone could give me a perfect answer, you don't even know engine, car, etc could of been for a boat.  I did get my answer however from a local guy that does have a flow bench/dyno and has 10+ years experience.  His basic answer was throwing me a book of equations and said TRIAL AND ERROR.  Also that in a turbo car the intake runner tuning is not as important as in an NA car.  Oh and also use basic equations from David Vizard a very well known engineer which includes actual HELPFUL INFORMATION PRINCESS in his books, by the way I am sure most of the book he gave me was repeats of his work.  Figured I would just answer the question since the post is full of non-sense.

By the way I would say you guys should hook up with honda tech, you can talk about how taping a 2L bottle to the exhaust tip will make more HP.

You really don't get it. For someone that tries to tell us we are immature high school kids you really are fucking retarded.

There is so much more engine building, fabrication, and tuning experience within the members of this "forum" than you can possibly imagine. All we ask is that you follow the rules as they have been for 10 solid years. You give us a small paragraph about yourself and your project, google image search some redhead porn and you would have completely been accepted and given all the info you wanted. FYI, I like big boobs, most others like asses, you will get enormous bonus points if there are pics of your g/f, wife, ex, mom, sister, etc. But no, you had to sit on your high horse and try to talk down to us. I don't come into your house, shake your hand and ask you for a sandwich. You don't come to our house and demand information we have all learned with hard work, trial and error. It's respect son, not being immature. Fuck you and your couch!!
