The comp ones dont have a problem with the snap rings anymore.. lol.... they finally changed to a US manufacturer for the snap rings! I know runsfromdacops lost a few snap rings and I've seen my share. But about a year ago they changed and work great now. but those summit snap rings look beeeeeefffyyyy.

Looks like the build is going along quick! I just picked up a ton of parts and a back half for my nova so I'm full tilt trying to get it done for summer.

Yep. Not trying to break any power records. They fit great for what I want. They are to small in the same way a rhb5 is to small for a d16. Basic I want about 500-550whp. The 2 of them should support about 800 hp so that fits my needs great. Pretty much off idle boost to about 5k to 5500. With a stock truck cam and my stock truck intake they should do great and make a good amount of tq.

I think they will work out ok. Just wondering how the internal wastegates will work. I'm gonna port the ever loving life out of them but like said earlier in the shoutbox/beach house I don't know if those wastegate ports will flow enough even after I port them.

So today's task......lol

Installed rear main seal in rear cover. Went to go bolt it down and all of the bolts I have for it are to long.

put my harmonic balancer in the oven at 250° for 30 min to see if I could get it to expand a little and I could slide it on my crank. Well that didn't work either so I scrapped doing that today.

So I decided to clean up the throttle body. Didn't like how I couldn't get it all the way clean so I said screw it and painted it black.

Then with time running short I and everything required me to run out to get shit I decided to open up the intake a touch so I could get a iat sensor in the intake.

First sized it up. Needed to open it up just a little.

Didn't have a 1/2 metal drill bit so I said fuck it and used a paddle bit.

Stuffed some paper towels in the intake and went to town.

Still was a touch tight so I ran the sensor on the wire wheel on the bench and it worked great.


So now it's just time for some rtv and pop it in and be done with. Just one step closer now.

Not much to update about. I've
unbolted the stock fuel rails and removed them off the intake.
I got the stock crank pulley installed.
I got some shorter rear main cover bolts.
I ordered 16 ngk spark plugs #3346 from my local napa for $2.49 each.

Got some expandable freeze plugs for the egr port on the intake but I'm taking them back because I don't like how they fit.

Other than that just doing the normal Holiday fucking scramble. I hate this time of year. I work less hours, make less money, and have a whole lot of no fucking time for anything.

i work the same hours. couple more days off. make about the same (maybe a hair more actually). but as much as i try, still have less time.


anyway little progress, is still progress...more than can be said for me.. im just that many days closer to maybe having turbo nova....  ::)

Well my new shorter bolts for the rear main seal cover are still to long. So it looks like I need 20mm lenght bolts. I was able to install the new 1 3/8" freeze plug in my intake. Just gooped it up with some grey rtv and pushed that fucker in. Also while I had the rtv handy I put my iat in. And while looking at this pic, I need to pull my steam vent tube and paint it. It looks like shit. Oh and I bought a oil cap.

the bolts are to short? really? they are really long factory, like 1-1/4''. looking good man. great spot for the IAT, I've never seen anyone do that before.

My bolts are to long. So I got shorter bolts and they are still to long. So now I need to get even shorter bolts. Thanks I saw someone else put it there online so I figured that's as good of a spot as any. Shouldn't get heat soaked or anything there and I can keep the wiring all nice and tight with the rest of the throttle body wiring.

Turbo pulled apart for inspection. Only 2 stripped bolt holes....lol quick work with a tap fixed that.






Throttle cable bracket showed up. I tell you what these mother fuckers are hard to find
