Well Kevin finally got around to calling me back. So total cost was $450+241.91 (shipping to west coast commercial address) comes to $691.91 and it looks like I should have the frame here early next week. Now it's time to start collecting parts.

Need,
1. Mustang/pinto steering rack
2. Tie rod ends
3. Upper and lower mustang II tubular a arms with dodge ball joints
4. Mustang II spindals
5. Conversion wheel bearings
6. Nova drum brake hubs (I already have)
7. C5 corvette brake calipers/brackets/rotors
8. D shaft and joints for steering linkage
9. Bearing for lower section of steering column to convert it to rack and pinion.

I'm sure there is more but that will get me started.

Also, I think I have a big brake kit with oem parts on the low buck. Like under the cost of the normal brakes and you can go to any auto parts store and just snag them. More to come as time goes on but with my hours of seaching and my bit of back and forth with a few guys I'm pretty sure it's gonna be real fucking cool and cost under $300 for 13" brakes.

i would love to see this happen. everyone is stuck on old school ass chevelle 11" brakes. there is way better shit out there.

Well the front clip showed up today looking like this

So I unstrapped it and pulled it off the pallet to get it in the back of my rig. Got it home and went to just hand tighten the support bars that come from the firewall down to the frame. There is 2 bolts on each frame rail. Looks like the plated that bolt them to the frame rail looks like they are drilled just a little off. No big deal. Looks like I will have to oblong the hole just a touch.

Here it is with 1 bolt holding them down

I will say the welds are pretty damn good. Clean lines and good penitration on everything. Gonna start tearing into my stock front end for disassemble this weekend.

Well hold on. The brake tech part will get deep in a hurry. I talked to dustin on the phone this afternoon and on paper everything for the brakes sound about right, now when it comes down to bolting shit together....... well that may be a different story but I'll know more once I get to that point. Which I'm hoping will be in the next few months. I leaving on vacation in about a month so once I get back from that I hopefully won't be saving every penny I come across for something else and I can actually spend some on the car.

edit: my plan was good. prices suck ass. calipers are hard to get i guess and brackets reflect that also.

i was about to make a comment about using my ITR calipers.... but Pilot/Ridgelines are 5x120

Ordered up my spindles today. I guess once they get here I'll pull my wheel and hub and see how my "theory" of brakes/wheel hubs work out.

Parts on order, waiting for them to arrive, leave on vacation next Friday for a week. Once I get back I'm gonna pull,shit apart and put shit together and hopefully have it driving in a year or so.

Well I painted the frame last week with POR 15. It's kinda funky, you paint it in with a brush and it dries smooth. It's hard as a rock and requires at least 2 coats. Weirton thing is after the first coat I let it dry about 30 min and go to put the second coat on. Goes on kinda tacky like the first coat is drying and then once it fully dries it has little bubbles here and there like I painted dirt into it. Not that I care all that much but looks kinda shitty compared to how it looked right after applying the second coat. Will say that it looks just like powederciating.

So today I pulled the spindles out and was gonna por15 them as well and low and behold they were already painted. Sweet!!!

Checked tracking on my a arms and caliper brackets and they arnt suppose to be here until Tuesday but they are probably gonna be here tomorrow.

So far the total is
Frame. 691.91
A arms. 245.99
Spindles. 100.00
Caliper brackets. 42.46
Bearings and seals. 35.00ish
A arm bolts. 16.17
Paint. 35.00ish

So now I'm at around $1166 into it. Still need brakes, rack and pinion, tie rod ends, brake lines, motor mounds, steering shaft and steering joints. And probably extended wheel studs.

Ok, so real update....

I haven't touched the car in weeks. I was on vacation and since I've been back I don't think the Temps have dropped below 90Â° during the day and it's been over 120Â° in the garage every day.

I need to pick up some springs and shocks for the mustang front end that way when I finally get around to swapping I can actually set it down on the ground. So if the Temps cool off I might actually get some work done out in the garage next weekend.
