Cool vid. But don't think the valves are the only thing that bend and flex at high RPM and high loads. Your crank and rods are flexing and twisting too at high RPM and high loads.

The first valve and springs look like a sbf valvetrain.

awesome vid.  wonder if they have a video of the piston rings and wheather or not they spin while the engine runs.  i've always wondered if it really matters where you put the ring gap when installing the pistons

It does matter how the rings go in.

you're saying they stay there and never spin in the cylinder?

i find that hard to believe but i still followed the proper technique the last couple of builds

FYI the valve should spin, especially the exhaust valve. Not like a top, but enough to keep from forming hotspots. Older engines had parts that induced rotation. The other thing, some of you guys know how long some valve guides are - its the valve end & spring that is flailing, not the entire valve stem. Its partly due to the huge gap they left between the roller and valve too.

IMO that vid sucked - there was virtually no float that I saw. 1/32" of float isn't really float. When the valve keeps moving downwards, then can't keep up with the returning rocker arm, that's the really bad "float". I'll admit the end was good in that it showed valves bouncing. Thats a nice way to loose compression.

That video is somewhat deceiving.  They take a single frame every revolution.  It's not real-time.  Same for combustion videos.  This was done where I previously worked:
