I usually try to do at least two passes with duct tape.  Root and filler.  I find it holds much better usually.  Are you going to back tape those joints also?

that is tight.  i'd think it'll still fry the ac compressor.

yeah idk i plan or changing to a better manifold thats a bit easiet to work a 3" I plan on wrap and ill oval out the pipe some by throwing it in a vice and giving it a tad more room

the ac system need a lot of work to get working anyway, i broke the top part where it hooks up and i cant weld aluminum :( i was thinking of JBing it but dont think it will hold :( would really loooooove to get a smaller condenser and custom lines made up but nobody around can do it

thinking the same thing i would dent it all along the compressor for just enough room to wrap it

Awesome

You said H-brace, are you talking about the the brace that you buy off of ebay or make like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Red-H-Brace-Lower-Arm-Honda-Civic-92-93-94-95-96-97-99-/310243168941?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories

I had to bend mine up in the middle just to clear the 2.5'' exhaust I have on my car.

fuck. I had to go fix a hydraulic line at a customer's house. They were just as pissed that it blew as they were their DUCT TAPE and hose clamp fix would not contain the leak. :-X

If you want AC, give it some space. You aren't going to lose much power, as the quick 90* transition will do most of the killing. You'll want some room to wrap it with 1-2 layers of insulation. I have ceramic 1/16" under the 3/32" fiberglass on my DP, and it's possible to do a few highway pulls and touch it. I also have a wrapped downpipe almost touching my pan, and it ends up heating the oil too much on long drives. Not enough of an air gap.

As far as custom pipes, ask your local body shops. They should know of someone that can make them.

If it was me i would have done a 2.5" to 3" transition after the compressor. I too think the a/c will be very unhappy.

Judging by the exhaust to heat shield under the car I'd say 1/8" to 1/4".

On my header I have it wrapped and a starter blanket up against my supercharger.

After a brisk set of runs my s/c feels a little above ambient in the area by the header.

dude youll be fine.  as long as the pipe doesnt touch the compressor and you dont have the car idling all the time, It wont fry.

My bros hatch had the DP really close to the compressor, It worked fine for 2 years, untill he went B-series.

vice+2x4

got about 1/4 of an inch now, gonna smooth the side of the compressor with a cutoff wheel and put reflective tape on it

flanges should be here tomorrow so i can weld them on and make the part going under the oilpan removable so if i need to swap a tranny or anything like that its just 3 bolts and no headache of getting the hard to reach bolts

You'll probably have to bypass the thermal thing on the compressor, since it will heat the actual case like a mofo. Once that thermal switch senses overheating of the compressor, it disables the clutch till it cools down.
