Weird, my post didn't seem to stick.
I ended up getting a crackhead deal for a 4 ton split unit with a 10 year warranty. I don't have time for all the messing around for something that might end up working. $3400 installed for my AC that keeps my shop nice and cool in Florida. Can't complain
