Well rooting around looking for something else I came across this site. It lets you check if a car has been reported stolen or declared salvage by VIN. Never know when you might need it so figured I would post it up.

my car does not show up in the teft database and i know its been stolen like 3 times. (not from me). but it shows up in the salvage database under theft/stripped, lol

My car has still been stolen and now it tells the date that it was stolen. I bought it literally a month after the date of loss. That fucking bastard must have gotten it back from the day I came to buy it. >:(

If a vehicle is stolen in the state of Arizona it gets a salvaged title. I paid the guy and took the car (He lived VERY far from me, like 70 miles) He said he worked next to where I lived and he would bring the notarized title with him and drop it off on his lunch. When I got it, sure enough REST/SALAVG on the title. It has been inspected and issued a salvaged title which is different than a total loss.
In this state, if your vehicle is stolen and recovered 5 minutes later, 3 blocks from your house, without so much as a scratch, it is automatically listed as a salvaged vehicle.
