t bolt clamps
« on: August 14, 2009, 12:22:20 AM »

hey guys, quick question... i want to use T bolt clamps on my build, just because there the best way to go other than welding... but, will worm clamps work just as good?? ill be boosting less than 20psi, and at the price summit wants for the clamps ($5 a piece, +shipping) thats over $100 just in clamps.. and with the setup im going for, ive already started a huge budget problem... just seeing if people had trouble with the regular clamps...

thanks,

matt

yea i decided since i hadnt used annnny chinese stuff with my build, that i would just buy some legit clamps.. i bought a set of 20 off ebay for $70, which i know is pretty pricey but they should do well, im assuming.

I ran worm gear clamps for years before switching to T-bolts, they work fine.

idk if someone had mentioned this before, if running worm clamps on silicon couplers. DO NOT run the standard louvered/ punched ones. find the crimped version (no holes through them). or you can and will tear up your nice couplers.

been there, done that..

if you can't or don't want to find the ribbed ones and have to use the punched ones, just wrap the end of the coupler in electrical tape, keeps it from messing up the coupler.
