70's 350 bored and stroked as aj stated.. lil motor in my mind for a v.
have had the car for about 15 yrs since the inital setup...lol took ten years to just paint it.. went 12.20's , then 11.50's, and wih this last motor from DG, BEST OF 10.901 @ 126.. all with no transbrake, straight up flat foot ... 1.51 60's...
dustin, plans are for a twin setup, dont know what yet, just getting started.. need to raise the front a touch, she real low in the front.. room is real tight really with the frame and,front cage tie in's...depending on the budget,might go full efi, that would be the best way. stay tuned.. work will commence soon, doing a ton of research...

jace just get a ms3 wont break the bank and will do what you need but dont expect more than 600hp reliably out of a stock 350 block. idk if you have heard of them but http://www.competitionproducts.com/ (http://www.competitionproducts.com/) its damn near the sister company to the engine shop i work at and i suggest a little M out of all the aftermarket sbc blocks i deal with on a daily basis i am partial to them based simply on build quality. shoot me a pm as i can refer you to my boss to see if you can get some backdoor badass used parts for dirt cheap after we cycle them out.

iam pretty sure the bottom end will suffice for my goals.. is fully built with eagle/je goodies and such.. it is a 4 bolt main. das, i will look into ms3 and such.. might just setup the blowthru, with a msd btm for now etc... i figure it all out real soon.. work is fucking taking all my time right now..

spiker, with the layout twins will be much easier to do imo.. there really is not much room,because of the front tie in's..if you werent so far away from me or not , come by sometime.. (in south hill) would love some input/suggestions..havent ordered shit yet.. need to plan it out efficiently.
and also it will look wicked mean.. and sorry the stall is 5200 (typo)
dvstr8r... will prolly add some triangulations (spelling?) to the cage... right now its a 14 point.. might put it back to street form..

Unless you are planning on going 8.49 or quicker the cage as is will probably do fine (not enough pics of the cage to say for sure).
I was just adding ridiculousness on top of spikers post.
The other reason twins are a good idea (aside from packaging reasons) is they do lite earlier and spool quicker. The downside is obviously cost of two chargers, and the maintenance of two chargers.
Will you be staying with the current engine and just adding boost?

Other then a window net, that should get an NHRA sticker for 8.50.
I would say either a single S480, or a pair of GT35R's or if you want to do budget a pair of HE351cw's.

Don't you love working on cars that are like spotless clean. You can spend all day under that thing and not even get your hands dirty.

One more thing, going turbo you are probably going to want to get out of the 5.13 rear gear set, and move up towards a 4.10 or even a 3.73. Turbo's need the load.

They would look cooler, that is about it.
They would take longer to come up on the line, make big heat in the transmission in the process, and then you would have to run them at like 10psi in order to not run faster then 8.50, and need to spend $10K on going to an sfi cage, and probably another $5k on the safety equipment that expires every couple years. It becomes very expensive very quick to run quicker then 8.50's. If that was the goal of the car there is still no way I would recommend hx-52's as they have very limited options. I would recommend a pair of BW S468's or S475's depending on how fast he really wanted to go.
My original suggestion of an S480 96mm turbine 1.32 T6, is only $850-900 brand new. Even old used HX-35's seem to go for $250ea+ these days.

yeah the car has a net..just removed for now..gonna add some bars here and there to add strength..and pc of mind
went with some cxracing t70 t/4 .70 a/r cold .96 hot iirc.. went cheap for intial setup then will update the turbos .. ordered some shaorty headers and gonna do topmounts..well see.. pics coming soon!

Sounds a little loose on the turbine housing, it may struggle to build boost at the line, but that will depend as much on tune, stall and cam as anything.

well i dont have a transbrake as of yet..still debating.. anyhow, this car has always left off the footbrake and throttle.. has had a 1.50 60' off idle basiclally.. those turbos will be for mock up and general troubleshooting, for leaks and such... there is a great article in this months car craft, they did som cam testing with twin t76's from cx racing.. good article.. basically trying to equal the top mounts they used, to clear the tie in's. and yes, i hope my stall is not to much, iirc its 5200 but i do have a backup, 4600 i think.. and also 4.88 and 4.56 gear sets..

i went with these 44mm gates from godspeed for pricing, 109 shipped ea. and came with all the vbands and hardware..ill give it them a shot..if suck...in the trunk they go..

Sweet. What's internally done to the motor? Roller cam? Rods and what heads are on it? What intake is that and how even are your plugs specifically 2,8,3,5. If they are not very even the situation will only get worse under boost. I would also suggest.a 4 hole tapered spacer asthey are all the rage and for very good reason.
I just had to junk a block that was in a wissota latemodel at around 630hp because it cracked a no. 4 sleeve so be cautious. Dart shp blocks are an awesome cheap alternative as they have. 350+ sleeve thickness at stock bore.

motor is just a basic 383 eagle stroker kit.. afr 195 heads, and team g weiand mani... cam is just a hydraulic flat tappet.. .550 lift.. all plugs looked great, so no worries, i will be most likel;y changing the cam and valvetrain to either a hyd. roller, or solid roll. and changing the springs out to match..dont care if the shit blows, i have 2 more 3 fiddy's and 1 400 sbc in tow...

das, were you referring to the carb spacer , as the 4 hole ? because there is a 1"spacer but its open plenum style..

russ , irrc they are 1/4" flange on the headers, 16 g tubimg ... and no i did not have to open up the holes bolts still fit nicely...it was tight though.. :noel:

currently, its a holley "blue" good for 12 psi.. shit is outta here.. need to decide if this is going to stay carb, or efi.. the latter would be beneficial.

finished the charge pipes .. all welded up...aluminum is a bitch to weld.. lots of practice on scrap pieces before i attempted the final welds.. iam no pro at tig welding, but iam happy with th results. they should hold fine..lol

25.5 cage is pricey and so is the other safety equipment that goes along with it.

ok guys need some input here... this would be the best way i can come up with for the fuel rail set up.. now this is all mocked up with some of the old an lines off the old setup. the rears of the rails would be linked with a -8 an loop. then as the pic shows.. come around and out to the reg. now the blue an fitten you see on bottom od=f the reg goes back to the tee on pass side feed. then the by pass -6 silver an out the btm of the reg back to fuel cell.. this work or what? pics...

Most of the big power cars run 1/8th due to looser rules and less abuse on the drivetrain. 6 point in a car that runs some 4.70's... happens all the time.

With that being said,either turbo would make more then 1000hp and take him well beyond the 8.50 his cage is good for.
Most of the big power cars run 1/8th due to looser rules and less abuse on the drivetrain. 6 point in a car that runs some 4.70's... happens all the time.
This seems to be more of an Eastern trend, out West even promod stuff typically runs 1/4, I am honestly not certain if there is any 1/8th stuff in that Seattle area.

ok guys need some input here... this would be the best way i can come up with for the fuel rail set up.. now this is all mocked up with some of the old an lines off the old setup. the rears of the rails would be linked with a -8 an loop. then as the pic shows.. come around and out to the reg. now the blue an fitten you see on bottom od=f the reg goes back to the tee on pass side feed. then the by pass -6 silver an out the btm of the reg back to fuel cell.. this work or what? pics...

So if I have this clear, the fuel pump feed is coming up the passenger side of the car (opposite that of the regulator), into the open "T" into the picture, feed all of the injectors (through a rear loop not pictured) and back to the regulator and then the return will run down the drivers side? Correct?
If that is the way you are doing it then you can either remove that open T on the passenger side, and run it as you have it, but block off one of the side ports on the regulator.
Or you can do it the same as above but run a line from the T on the passenger side, into one of the side ports of the regulator.
Or the ideal way is you move that T back behind the engine, have each rail fed from that T behind the engine, and then the front of the rail each gets fed into it's own port in the regulator, and then the return as is.

and yes your correct on this setup as i explained.. well i would run it like you say but the motor is real tight to the firewall... and yes the open tee would run under water pump and connect to the open side of reg. i may still try to mock up the way you said just to see if i can fit it, if not just delete the tee and block that side of reg port..this will still work ? in my understanding its just a super long honda fuel setup, with the reg on the end..

If no one can provide you logs of pressure drop across the rails for your fuel line ID and diameter, then you need to use a T. The ID is like a plenum, and if the injectors can drink it dry before more fuel comes in, pressure drops.

sorry guys been lazy posting pics and shit... quick update.. yes did cam swap and thats done then starter decided to shit bed and eat up flexplate. parts ordered and should recieve today.. reinstall and finally should be able to run it off the jacks this sun. then i will update with all new pics and shit... the car sounds fantastic and iam pumped..
alpha-n does not su[pport boost..need speed density, hence the cam swap... removed ionner valve springs and broke in the cam.. then reinstalled inner's and ran it once when the starter shit... it did pull 14in at idle 1000 rpm..should work.. went from 108 lsa to 113 lsa.. lil less intake dur and lift .507 284d and .525 306 d exh. idles way smoother... more to come

Talked to him the other day. Said he has it running, but has to do a cam swap. Only pulling 6" vac at idle is making a bitch to even idle he said.
Should have called the Grand Wizard, happy to have given some advice... I just did a speed density Procharged 454 that pulled 5" at idle, had an electric vacuum pump for the brake booster. Drives and idles great at all temps.

As someone else stated, you can't do that to a boosted car.
I get the feeling there might be a parts combo conflict here that wasn't exactly the cam. Trying to idle too low an rpm (which can be bad for a big mechanical lash cam, i so equipped), or the wrong converter loading the motor and causing issues when dropped into gear.

People hate to gear it, but converters are fucking critical to getting a RWD car out of the hole. A serious build usually requires 3-6 converter changes, working with a good converter guy, before you find what the car wants. You ready to bleed some money and pull some trannies, bro?

aug 9th went to pacific raceways for a tnt session.. had a hell of a time passing tech .. master switch was being a wierdo.. finally passed and first run of the night pushed the hgs out.. lol
the car pulled hard until the hg shit.. ran a 10.188 @ 100.21 .. 6.19 116 @ the 1/8th.. soon as i hit 3rd gear the rad hose popped off and lifted..
so ordered .060 cometics and arp 12 pt studs... more to come...

have a solid base tune in it for now.. feels good on the street as of yet.. need some fine tuning done..
the motor had old felpro hg that were 4.160 bore, the motor has 4.030 bores..and was running arp bolts not studs..
ill have it all fixed in a few days..then well see what the numbers will be on sept. 7th
on a side note did get the projacks/high jacks all setup for the pits.. shit is slick

the old style rockers now hit the studs when lashed.. because the pushrods are now .021 shorteer..

all i did was a good tight fit, then rivet the cowl through the hood and used straight resin sandwiched between the two flange and hood under the hood for the first step.then i applied some mesh the next day to it..
