Title: "Upgrading" 64 bit Vista Home edition to 32 bit Ultimate
Post by: Colin on March 12, 2009, 12:10:53 AM
I bought a new laptop a few months ago with 64 bit Vista Home Edition. I had an "Upgrade" disc from my old computer that upgrades to 32 bit Vista Ultimate Edition. I want to go 32 bit because I only have 4 gigs of memory and a few programs I use (Solidworks Student Edition) are not supported on Home Edition, only Premium.

Is this cool do to, or will I fuck something up?

I dont think you can "upgrade" from 64 to 32 and I know for a fact you cant go from 32 to 64. There might be a trick to it but i dont know I hate vista lol.

As far as I know you need to do a clean install, no simple way of swapping between 32 and 64 bit versions.
