With the irs suspension every time I shift the car gets mad squarely on the top end so installing a t400 with trans brake so I dont have to shift so much at the track, should help with the launch and keep the car more consistent at the track I already have the plate to bolt it to the engine now just need a custom flex plate made and figure out what stall to run on the converter, im new when it comes to stalls so any input would be greatly appreciated

Found one this was a 10.2 pass with a fucked 60ft and shifting 3rd early cause I noob shifted it the day before, next day I just worked on my short track dailed the 1.44 60ft in this video down to consistent 1.36 60's, I  couldn't  get 9's though cause 3rd was toast at this point so was pointless to turn the power up .so after I wait two months to get the v160 rebuilt I decide to go t400 lol so this is the only vid I have car only made about 20 passes this year next year big dog style for sure

Why not a glide?

What rpm do you have your launch control set at? It will be close to what you need for stall.

7500 I dont think it needs to be that high any more I would still like to take it out on the street I was thinking 6.5k launch with 4k stall maybe? Some were around there any ways if that would work like I said im noob auto/stall guy

If you were to three pedal it, when could you build boost buy? When you were dynoing what rpm was peak torque at?

I would start at about 5500rpm for a final stall speed then. Now some places when you ask for a 5500rpm stall will have it start to stall at 5500rpm and you will end up at 6500rpm+ on the trans brake, and some places will start to stall it at about 4000rpm so you end up at 5500rpm on the trans brake. I would probably start with the latter, and work from there.

I recommend pro torque converters http://www.protorque.com/ they work with a lot of turbocharged race cars, and have a good understanding of what a turbo car needs. They will probably even have a better recommendation for initial stall speed.

Now with a 5k+ stall could you still drive it on the streets if need be? I like to beat on bikes and spendy v8 builds via highway pulls on the occasional weekend

I'm sure you could, not sure how drive able it would be, but if you get too much lower you might have trouble building boost on the line.

Or about a 1/4 of what it costs to build a race transmission for a diesel, or a 10.5 car, or ect...

Shit a 10g diesel race trans might be lucky to even get a convertor and valve body with it lol.

Sounds like a solid dd transmission, a 48re that will hold up to 9.51@149mph at 6800lbs, and then go sled pulling the next day is a little more money then that.

been a while since i updated this thing just been waiting for parts but here is what i got going so far

adapter plate showed for the t4oo

Missing link

stealthmode thought he would try rwd out

-8 an trans cooler with thermostat switch for the fan

also swooped a nice set of cf fenders just cause they were cheap sad thing is i think there heavier then my stock ones, oh well ill just have to drop a deuce before i race to make up the diff

had a exhaust made for the street runs cause open dp is dope but loud as shit at 10k

Only exhaust pic I got right now single 4'to duel 3' all stainless with vbands

picked up a 1000hp intercooler also, shits crazy on the car takes the whole front end up you could rock it without the bumper and shit looks way good

last thing i need to get this bitch in and done is flexplate and for atfspeed to finish my torque converter. i ended up going with a 5200 stall 10' and got a guy to make the flex out of billet as soon as the converter shows so i can take a few measurements for
it should look like this when done

thats about all for now im waiting for some more shit to show up so ill keep this up to date as shit shows, i only have my build here and mine and stealthmodes forum
