put on 2 light coats. I just did this to try and cover up some of the gouges. It will be getting full paint this winter hopefully with that new front end.

Just waiting on my shim to be finished then everything is going back in. Most likely Thursday night.

Looks good... I talked to Passenger last night for a while, after tossing slurs at each other for a minute, we settled into the probability of Levis shit being doine...

What I (and Dave) find interesting is that he really thinks its going to be as easy as just "throwing" it back together, with no issue popping up holding back the needed tuning and other work...

The only difference this time is that it was actually running when I turned it off last year. I think I will drive down saturday morning with the car, I should have it finished and running by then.

Finished painting the engine bay, pulled the spare b16 tranny apart. Found some shit, I am seriously wondering how the fuck it stayed together. Every tooth is either showing major stress cracks, is cracked, is almost broken off or missing. Who knows how long this thing was like that.

That and one of my sycro's was beat to fuck in a weird spot on the outside ring?

Levi: The syncro rings are EXACTLY what i thought... and are doing that excactly whyt we talked about. The 1st gear issue is a sure sign you need to start thinking about looking at them. HARD launch in 1st gear is Y.

side getting eaten is getting hammered against the selector hub... after a while, it can actually work its way UNDER the lobes of the hub and CRACK IT (The hub)... Ask me how I know. LOL

The reverse gear... Looks like its hitting something, not sure of a B trannys orientztion and what it could be.

As fort he shim... I wasnt aware you were talking about it being for the endcase/input shaft. As long as the oil trough fits still and flow isnt impeded that will work... Thats why those shims have the section cut out, so that the oil can get to the end.

Bay looks really good, gonna be clean this yrae. Cant wait to see the cage IF you get it all done in time

Pretty much failed tonight.

Couldnt get the 2 case halves together because the fucking bearing on the end of the input shaft wouldnt go into the gear side case. I am going to try a little bit of heat and a bag of peas tomorrow. If that doesnt work I am going to throw a mock tranny in so that I can take the thing down to dave and figure out my tranny situation later.

Its going to live this weekend, don't worry.

Its the bearing. I can see it marring the case when I gave it some love taps. Its so fucking hit or miss with that bearing. It usually slides right on.

Either way, I am just going to say fuck it, I can play with it later. Time to go to work...... I hate tax time, its really cutting into play time

Put the bearing in first dummy, THEN slide the case on. The input shaft will line up, Then its just an issue trying not to knock the top lock ring off of the top of the gearset as you bring the case down.

You dont have to do it with the beqaring on the stack. The ONLY thing that makes easier is not knocking the lock ring off as you bring the case down. Use some grease to get that fucker to stick, or practice on:
