I really dislike those bottom pivot pedals.  Maybe the Tilton's are alright, but they were the one thing I thought poorly done on the 914's.

All of the older 911's are the same way.  They feel really weird at first, but are great when u get used to them.

I kept getting my feet caught on them, they just seemed like a shitty idea.   I've only test driven a couple, never owned/lived with, so I bow to an experienced perspective.

I prefer floor mounted pedals as well, but I got used to them with my old 911's, seems a lot of road race guys converted to floor mount pedals as well.

i would think that having the floor mount would be something to acquire because I have a bit larger foot and I think that my heels would get caught all the time.

So this winter these are the plans

- pulling the motor
-cleaning up the engine bay
    - Making a new engine Harness
    - moving brake system inside the car
    - making a new clutch line so I can use my tilton control valve
    - exospeed 3-piece front end
    - possible matte black finish for the whole car
    - cleaning up all the wiring in that car
    - push lock vacuum lines(tired of the heater hose & vacuum lines)
    - New passenger intake manifold
    - cage

who knows if it will actually get done

what do you think of color choice?

did you know those cars are not actually painted right? they are covered in a foil that said to protect paint, I've seen the R8 before, I have a friend who had it done to his new c class, and know a guy who got it done to his ep3, because it was cheaper than actual paint, it cost 1000 euros to do on cars. 3m

last i remembered it was paint. But i could be wrong..
Since i was going to paint my car that color. I'd hate to have paid $300 a pint for foil :-\

3m scotchcal 85. comes in lots of colors.

most of those pictured are probably a nice black paint job with the flattening agent added to the clear coat.

Its actually called "Matte Clear". Its a bitch to spray evenly. Its more commonly used to spray engine bays, and jams that dont have a shiny finish to them.

And I think Rudeboy was talking about Vinyl wrap. I saw a VW that was wrapped with argyle. It was pretty cool, but not worth the cash IMO.

Argyle is cool on socks, not on cars.  Trust a VW fanboy to fuck perfectly good argyle up.

weird thing is once u get used to them, everything else feels wrong.

The only thing that bothers me is the clutch.  I have no problems with gas/brake.  But then again im normally wearing steel toe boots so it might not be the same with pumas.

The pedal thing would not be a consideration for me when buying the car though.  You really do get used to it.

 i've owned 3, 70 911T, 77 911 carrera(sc basically), and my current 76 930.

A 1970 911e with a fiberglass slantnose widebody kit, first had the 2.7 fail, than a 3.0sc engine with a homebrew turbo setup that never worked right, than bought a 3.2 carrera engine with a mating g50 tranny that I got scammed on, bought from texas, never received it, but did lose $6500usd.

And a 72 911t with a standard fiberglass 930 body kit, this one was actually really nice, and had a 2.4s engine with webbers. And yes I do hate the widebody coversions, but my plans were always to just make track cars but never got around to it, shit hit the fan and they got sold. Haven't had a cool car since.

Where are pics of the '76?

Satin Black is decently easy to spray. I've sprayed whole cars down to small parts. I've always used a single stage to do it tho. with the flattened clear it is VERY hard to make consistent even for a really good painter. Any fluctuations in temperature make it flatter or leave it with more of a sheen in some places. with the single stage if you have a temperature controlled room you wont have a problem.
