Any freeware options for reprogramming?

Maybe throw one of the supercharged cobalt SS programs on it?

I'm thinking a 14B would wake it up a little bit.

And, no, I don't want to do a 350 swap.

Cantemplating a LS1 in a few years. Want to play a little with the 2.2 in the meantime.

No freeware, yet.

Sad thing is those ECUs are EEPROM... hacking them is not hard, people are just scared of a dinky little SMT chip.

I need to check to see if it's a return fuel system or returnless.

Might try a FMU and see if it likes 9 lbs.

Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to retard timing under boost on these?

Wouldn't the MSD boost timing box work on one of those?  I know, not super cheap.

If it's like anything else I ran across the data stream is gonna be way to slow to be useful. I've tried even the snap on scan tool and its too slow for any performance type useage. Great for diagnostic work though.

From what I have been reading on HP tuners and EFI live, the ECM in this truch uses strictly alpha-N, and the timing maps and fueling maps are based off of TPS only. Does this open the door for some kind of piggyback tuning options?

They have a return style fuel system, but if I remember right it's stainless braided line and hardline. Gonna be tough to hook up an fmu, but possible.

If I had a desire to run an FMU on one of those trucks, I would probably cut the hardline and slide rubber hose onto it with clamps. Hopefully profit would follow.

This is WIN!

Just do a plier flair on it and go.
