What do you do when there's NO fuel rail for your app? I mean when it's not even for an engine? Build your own!
I had a spare Ford rail with 14mm buckets, so I cut those off and used them. I welded them to a 3/4" square steel tube, then capped the ends with NPT bungs (1/4" in, 1/8" out). I should have bolted it to a large chunk of steel, since it did bow/warp a bit - not that it matters. This is for my flow bench.
I have 5 injector slots so I can flow 4 and use a 5th injector to check for any variance between runs. I might add hinges so I can tilt it for easy injector changes, but that's about it. It will hold injectors just like my existing flow bench rail.

Here is what I did for the slappymobile. We have piles of the injector adapters for the 14mm bosch injectors to the smaller honda injector holes. I just drilled some holes for them into a piece of tube and welded them on.

This is what I did. Cheap and easy. Found the proper drill bit on eBay for like $8.

I was gonna say, I know they make fuel rail stock. Most of the shops around here pick up like 10 feet of it, and make fuel rails out of that. Drill it for the injectors, and then tap the ends for fittings, or weld them on...

2ft of extruded would have been $30 shipped, I got this 3/4" steel for $8, injector bungs/clips for $0. I might have a better rail in the future, but I'd rather start with a newer BMW rail and just get some NPT fittings TIG'd or brazed on.

considering the way fuel would spray from a weld that isnt fully sealed i would rather have the insurance of only relying on o-rings and npt threads with sealant. to each their own, but $30 for a custom rail isnt bad at all

All the newer rails from Bosch and most other OEM's now are either stainless brazed together, or steel brazed and then plated. I know mine is fine, I tested it at 110psi with soapy water, then in a bucket of water. It just took a while since the pulse dampers I tried using were bad & leaked.

I have an m3 with one, I know the oem uses them. I'm not knocking them once tested, mine is more fool proof and even though 3x as much as yours, it's still only $30. I would rather drill 4/6/8 holes and tap 2 rather than weld to make one.

My drill press sucks balls, so I can't simply drill extruded stock. I also need provisions to clamp the injectors on, so I really needed a flat top (square tube). I meant to say for my weird needs, brazing would be the best option.

bump a old thread. phil how did you secure the rail to manifold? what did u look up on ebay for the bit all I can find is $129.99 ones?

I drilled and tapped the rail then made brackets that bolted to the holes and bolted to the intake where the stock rail mounted.
Search 14mm drill bit.

I did the same thing. no welding other than a mount bracket for the fpr. made little brackets that bolt it all together. you can see the bolts holding it to the intake mani and the bolts go in the bottom of the rail are m6.
