Lol wish it was all that easy. I'm borrowing money I don't have to buy this engine. And on top if that it needs a rebuild since it's torn down. If I didn't have a kid and if I had money and if I wasn't working the next 6 days I might have a slight chance of doing all that. Don't have the money to overnight spoon parts from Japan. ...

The kiddie pool works great for rebuilding carbs in. That way I don't leak gas all over my driveway.

So I'm gonna pull the carb tomorrow and try to get this thing to idle down lower than 1200rpms. I opened the rear blades a touch when I had it off the car last time and no matter how much I turn the idle screw out it won't idle down. They were completely shut when I pulled it off.

Nova made 196hp 280tq. Huge improvment over last year. Like another 15hp and 60tq and the only thing that has been changed was I put a pertronix ignitor in. But it was also a different dyno. So I take it with a grain of salt.

SO I have a bunch of parts up for sale on craigslist. I got a guy that says hes gonna buy some shit tonight. If he comes through I will be ordering up a rebuilt kit and some head bolts or studs. Still on the fence about using the china studs but I keep reading about how people are having good results with them.

Ive got some parts sold. So I ordered up a gasket kit from ebay. $126 shipped. Got some more parts to sell and then I'll order more parts up. Thinking of ordering head studs, motor mounts, and a oil pump. That way I can assemble it and then put it on the nova. Or at least look at it all assembled on my engine stand... Gonna start a new list of shit I need to get it running.

Have a friend that wants to buy my running 327. Said he would give me $800 from air filter to oil pan. Think if he does I'll turn right around and order up micro squirt and the lsx wiring harness.

Well got a text at 5:31 am this morning with a guy say he's waiting at the grocery store for me to bring the heads to him. He lives 70 miles away and said he would pick them up from me at work sometime between 6am and noon. I was pretty eager to get these which make me feel like I let them go for to little. But then again I haven't put any real effort into selling them. So now I'm another $225 richer. :-) Now if I had time to tear the block down I could find out weather or not I need new cam, main or rod bearings and whether or not this thing needs rings, a cam and lifters. For now I think I'm gonna just put the money on the shelf until i get a chance to tear into it. I am going to order up these mounts today though.

Good news butches. Engine looks minty. inside. Lifters still had nice clean oil inside them. And all the rollers look good. SO I tore it down to the point to where Im now gonna clean the shit out of it and reassemble. Dont even think Im gonna double check with platigauge. IDK well see how eager I am. At any rate not much for pics but I did pull apart and label everything like I always do

And these showed up in the mail today. Missing 1 bolt. Got a hold of the ebay seller and hes sending few extra in the mail. I was gonna make my own adapter plates but for $40 shipped im not even gonna waste my time

Now Im gonna head out into the garage and see what it will cost me to ship some shit to the other side of the county and hopefully make another $125 to fund some more parts.

I dont know. Ive Seen lots of people making a lot more power than me will with stock ring gap.

Purple power driveway and asphalt cleaner is the shit for cleaning parts. All I did was spray it on, didn't even really let it soak and moved the cleaner around a little bit with a washcloth. Turned out pretty good.

You can see I only cleaned 1 cap, but the rest of them are right next to the clean one. This stuff fucking rocks. I can't image what it would do if I had a nylon brush to scrub it with.
