Sorry about that last pic, defiantly needs resized. lol.

Also, Sorry for all the cell phone pics, but thats all i have/had for most of my build.

Starting off with the engine.

My pistons/rods. The one that is dark has spun, all 4 were resized after that.

The block, back fresh from the machine shop, 75.5mm bore

The block assembled.

Ported a new oil pump, i figured getting the oil to the bearings was most important

The head was completley ported out to the max by Rico at the Horsepower Farm including reworking the combustion chambers and a full radius valve job (infinate angles ftw)

I bolted those together via ARP head studs and dropped it in the car.

Will update again tonight, just snuck this one in. I have to go and do work.

Wow, I've never seen a forum so serious. kinda sweet... a little rough getting started around here.

There was sufficient porn there... apparently she was shy of forced induction.

I am in the middle of fixing it. brb.

Now back to the other business at hand...

Building my 4" exhaust. Its a manderal bent 4" with a hooker aerochamber muffler. I had a skunk2 on there but it was completley broken at every weld. I also got all the 4" for free, and decided to give it a go.  It sounds pretty legit. I wish i had a sound clip with that and the exospeed stage3 cam.

(tires were replaced)

I ended up getting it over the rear control arm. I wish i had some pics of it with the bumper on.

Now onto the Intercooler. This is one of my favorite parts of the setup.

Taking a break from the car pics for a second...

Ok, back to the car....
1g BOV anyone?

And Finaly, the getting down to business.
This was done with the smaller turbonettics 60/63 47 trim. I actually didn't need to change too much for the sc60 except the dp flange.

Since I was using the hard pipe inside the plastic airbox and stuff, i wanted a more accurate and discrete IAT. I drilled and tapped the back of the y8 intake out.

Some sc60 Nitty Gritty, Again sorry for all the cell phone pics. It's all I had at the time.

The oil drain can be seen in the background, In the foreground is the pipe elbows and stuff I had to use to get the oil from the filter adaptor around the turbo. I actually drilled out the pipe and elbows on the inside. The car has great oil pressure at all times, so I'm not too conscerned with it anymore.

With the heat shield in place.

I used braided covering for the iacv line b/c i figured it may help a little with the heat. I have 14,000 logged on the setup, and it hasn't melted yet.

Thats about it. I would have described the pic's, but they should speak for themselves. If anyone has any questions on anything, or want more pics, just ask. I probabally have them.

I know this is not the most efficient setup out there, and there are probably better ways to do this, but this is what I came up with. It works. I daily drove this car like this for about a year. I had put 14,000 miles of 25+psi on it from spring, through summer, and into winter.  My only gripe with the setup is that it took too long to spool. I'd reach full spool around 5500-6000,  and start to blow the tires off at 100. It was also awesome to mess with people on the streets. I could tell someone that it was a fully built civic with a big ass turbo running 30 pounds of boost straight to their face, let them look under the hood, and get away with it. They look at me laughing at another stupid ricer kid. I also would tell people that it was completley stock with a header, and that flew as well.

Sadly, I got greedy one day with the boost and wiped out a piston. (my boost gauge stopped reading at 30psi, and I rigged the wastegate so it would not open).  I still haven't gotten the car back out on the road yet, i've been too busy playing with my accord.

I should have everything back together and on the road (and dyno) in the next month or two. One thing at a time i suppose.

Thanks for looking...

damn that intercooler setup is awesome, never thought about turning it that way. do you have to empty out a shitton of bugs/birds/road debris every once in a while?

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

The car looks good.

And the eye candy helped through all those build picts.  ;D

Any Dyno numbers, or track times?

Thanks. Sadly, No nubmers. I built this winter 07 before I had access to a dyno.  (and a camera) I took it to the track, but the damn car is a highway car. I ran a 14.9@101, 2.4 60,  with 0 loss of traction. (105-110 is where it started to blow the tires off in 4th) The turbo just did not spool till the top of 3rd, and 4th is where it shined. Thats why I built my accord, for the low end I miss from the civic.

I can drive just fine. Burnin yo tires all tha way down the track doesn't make you a betta driva.

1st gear would only make 4-5psi, 2nd gear would make 10, 3rd gear would make 22-25 (at 6,000 rpm) and 4th would peg the boost gauge... I'd have to be going 60-70 already before getting into some power... at that point i'm past the 1/8th.

The car ran a 16.6 stock.... so I dropped a second and a half over stock.

bottom line, it was a highway car.

FYI, for future referrence.  Drilling and tapping an IM for the IAT install means you have to yank the IM and clean it out... put the IAT in your charge pipe.  This is pretty easy to do when early F22A Accords and the JDM B20B/Z have threaded IATs in their IMs, exact same calibration as the IAT we already know and love.  :)

Thanks for the info about the IAT's.  I had quite a few of the obd1 iat's laying around, and was really uncomfortable tuning high boost without one in the intake (it used to just lay in the engine bay).  The intake manifold was on the bench when I did this. No way in hell I was going to dick around with drilling and tapping that on the car.

Fucking wow, that's definately the most sleeperish Civic I've seen. A cutout+stock muffler would be the only way to go further. Maybe not the fastest from a stop, but definately would win a quick bet from a roll. I'd think it would be faster under 110 with the 47trim turbo, which would honestly be 99.99% of your time speeding.

BTW I'm surprised the turbo has lasted that long at that angle. Generally Garrett says anything over 15* from horizontal is bad for the turbo. Yours looks like 30* at least.
