Title: new drag car
Post by: hatchbone on April 10, 2012, 12:29:00 AM: parted out the hatch from the time i got my new car till the time very thing was parted and new shit purchased was about a week (crazy good deals) so ive wanted a s2000 for a while and i finally got one its a 2001 ap1 with ap2 2.2 swap, i also took my tires from my hatch and had them mounted on the stock 16's cause traction will be a issue all these parts i have already paid for and are going to be done and on the car in the next two to three weeks im still waiting for a couple things to show up

things not pictured cause im waiting for them to show up are drive axles, my 6point role cage and fbm 1000hp intercooler core. also i have the fbm head stud kit for the s2000 you guys know what head studs look like ,also fbm t4 divided duel 46mm turbo manifold made in house so when the cars there ill get some progress pics of that also all my piping and exhaust also in house this is just a update list the car should be back on the ground in the next two weeks

things i still need for a 700hp wheelie standing shit stomper is NOTHING lol all paid just waiting now so enjoy and i will update this thread as fast as it goes together

Post by: hatchbone on April 10, 2012, 09:08:35 AM: I call them my official,unofficial sponsor most the 9'sec s2000 in the country run there rearendvkits along with the v160 conversion,its like the one stop s2000 in the country I'm known them for years so it was a easy decision to make who I get my parts from lj at fbm has tuned my cars for close to 7yrs now and would give the shirt off there back to help me out,I will up date this over the next week or two I'm just waiting for the Eaton LSD and my drive axles then she gonna get stripped like a nogs bike and built to beast mode , looking to run mid 9's full weight a/c and my fat ass ,hatch was fun for the past ten years but I need to see what a wheelie is all about lol ,many updates to come

Post by: hatchbone on April 21, 2012, 02:58:44 PM: left the trans install alone today, i did notch the bell housing to accept the s2000 starter and just stripped the bay and pulled the head and rear end out not to bad for 3 hrs now im going shooting, head should be done earlie next week with valves, guides and seals and springs along with punching the head stud holes out bigger to accept the L19 studs, should go together fast after that cause all the drive train will be in tomorrow so only thing left is manifold fab piping and exhaust

Post by: hatchbone on September 25, 2012, 06:09:09 PM: With the irs suspension every time I shift the car gets mad squarely on the top end so installing a t400 with trans brake so I dont have to shift so much at the track, should help with the launch and keep the car more consistent at the track I already have the plate to bolt it to the engine now just need a custom flex plate made and figure out what stall to run on the converter, im new when it comes to stalls so any input would be greatly appreciated

Post by: hatchbone on September 25, 2012, 07:01:30 PM: Found one this was a 10.2 pass with a fucked 60ft and shifting 3rd early cause I noob shifted it the day before, next day I just worked on my short track dailed the 1.44 60ft in this video down to consistent 1.36 60's, I couldn't get 9's though cause 3rd was toast at this point so was pointless to turn the power up .so after I wait two months to get the v160 rebuilt I decide to go t400 lol so this is the only vid I have car only made about 20 passes this year next year big dog style for sure

Now some places when you ask for a 5500rpm stall will have it start to stall at 5500rpm and you will end up at 6500rpm+ on the trans brake, and some places will start to stall it at about 4000rpm so you end up at 5500rpm on the trans brake. I would probably start with the latter, and work from there.

I recommend pro torque converters http://www.protorque.com/ (http://www.protorque.com/) they work with a lot of turbocharged race cars, and have a good understanding of what a turbo car needs. They will probably even have a better recommendation for initial stall speed.

Sounds like a solid dd transmission, a 48re that will hold up to 9.51@149mph at 6800lbs, and then go sled pulling the next day is a little more money then that.

last thing i need to get this bitch in and done is flexplate and for atfspeed to finish my torque converter. i ended up going with a 5200 stall 10' and got a guy to make the flex out of billet as soon as the converter shows so i can take a few measurements for

Post by: hatchbone on April 02, 2013, 09:45:54 PM: Car ran a 10.2@135 last year at mid 500ish hp and I was shifting 3rd at 4k after I noob shifted it, but there are cars with the same builds running 8's with the setup I had last year I just had to ditch the manual trans after I had to drop 3k to rebuild it so when I got it back I sold that slut asap and started on this t400 swap figured if the 1000hp supras use them ill give it a shot also,but should run atleast low 9's this year without to much fuckin around

Car ran a 10.2@135 last year at mid 500ish hp and I was shifting 3rd at 4k after I noob shifted it, but there are cars with the same builds running 8's with the setup I had last year I just had to ditch the manual trans after I had to drop 3k to rebuild it so when I got it back I sold that slut asap and started on this t400 swap figured if the 1000hp supras use them ill give it a shot also,but should run atleast low 9's this year without to much fuckin around

Did you end up trying the steel flexplate? I'm curious if it was the lack of any flex or if the power pulses were too spaced out (being a 4cyl vs 8cyl). 3 mounting tabs really isn't much when you think about it, so any extra shock between power pulses could take them out that much easier.

I know it's a little, late, but it looks like there are a few ways you could have made that billet flex plate considerably stronger. Better luck with your lq9! Lets see some wheelies!
