yeah i doubt that will never happen again

Freescale (Motorola) no longer sends free samples of any chips to generic email addresses, unless you pay shipping which exceeds what the chips could be purchased for + shipped from Digikey. I tried to get some 1815's the other day and was denied. :(
-
JD what do you mean by Generic email addresses? If I send from my work email would they?
-
shit i found.

I'm going to free you nogs from Xeno-domination of the Freescale (not motorola, n00bs) MAP sensors. I'll try to post a new DIY to make your own MAP using the stock housing. I already have five special edition PINK omni 4bars, so I'll probably make a 3bar. Madmax did the original write-up, but the pics weren't all that great. Anyways, here's the google cache on it. If it doesnt' work, google "madmax motorola sensor" and click "cached" right below the URL.

ya already beat me to it
mpx4250ap is the 2.5 bar $12.7
mpx2200gp is the 2.0 bar $9
-
mpx2200gp Is a GAUGE sensor. Gauge reads the difference between the port and normal atmosphere. Differential is the difference between the 2 ports. Everything besides ABSOLUTE is useless.
BTW search digikey for "freescale", select "Pressure" under "Sensors, Transducers" section, select "absolute" & filter, then select all voltages besides the 0-40mV. Subtract ~14.5 psi from the max pressure and that's your boy.

gmail, hotmail, yahoo. I bet an .edu address would work, so should your company.

Good tech, you n00bs better eat this shit up.
-
i've got a .edu email thats worked for national semiconductor before. freescale dont' have shit that we can use for free samples that i've found
-
Freescale is what became of Motorola's IC and component branch, there's quite a bit of logic/MCU I'd like from them.

let me know if theres a sample you want me to try to get, maybe we can work a trade out for those shift forks
-
They still offer the g-sensors last time I looked. I've already tried one on my SSI-4: give it voltage, ground, and read the output. They are instant response, and only need the extra resistors/capacitors if you want an ultra-clean output. They're the cheapest g-sensors you'll ever find (~$15 IIRC), if you can't get samples at least. :somb:
As for the MAP sensors, they range from $11-16, and usually $6 for shipping. I should have my DIY MAP Sensor write-up posted soon, so you can have a bolt-on 4bar MAP for a FRACTION of the cost of an Omni/Hondata 4bar.

When you check out make sure you use USPS as shipping, because it is way cheaper.
And here is the spec sheet:

That's the correct sensor. I just did this about a month ago, worked perfect.
Practice soldering very small fucking shit before attempting to put this in.
Your car will need a retune completely.
-
I love 4 bar sensors.
-
I love 4 bar sensors.
-
So would these 3 bar sensors be a cheap substitute for a GM 3 bar sensor for a Haltech? or will that not work?

These sensors should work with any with any EMS that has custom inputs for MAP sensor.

i asked to digikey and they gave me 54$ shipped for one :?:

holy shit that seems rediculous. How much would a letter be cause I plan on getting a couple more my next work order. I'll throw the fucker in an envelope and mail it to you if you want.
-
I'm putting in a digi key order in the next week or so, if people are interested I'll get a couple.
-
I got four 4 bars for $10 each plus ship from Digikey. IIRC Freescale's site wanted $14/per.
