junk yard turbo set up
« on: July 19, 2012, 06:35:58 AM »

Ok well this is my first post and Im a noob at anything that has to do with turbos. But my question is about factory turbo manifolds that can fit Hondas. There has been a heated discussion around town about how you can find a  manifold from a factory motor that will fit a d16a6 is there any truth to this or is it just some jackass talkin out his ass?

Noob intro. needed  :noel:

But since I'm in a good mood, you can use any stock manifold for you engine, make an adapter and bolt the turbo on.

But you may have to run an external oil sump to dump back into engine.

And if you use headers, you may have the turbo soo close to the ground that, you'll probably break it off.

Best thing for cheap on a D-series motor is using a CX/HF exhaust manifold that had a catalytic converter bolted to it.

Then use an adapter plate to get the turbo on then run everything off of that.

Like in this build http://web.archive.org/web/20021106104744/http://www.homemadeturbo.com/t3.html

With this basic info. posted use it to search for more.  :noel:

Now if you ask anymore questions without a noob post, you may not like the result.  O0 O0 O0 O0 O0 O0

Noob post? Yes... Feed the minions.

But he's right.  Best stockish manifold is Hx/hf manifold.

These days a sinktrap is more common.(and lets you fit bigger turbos.)

5 days. From your question and statements you are obviously a 17 year old punk kid that knows nothing about the field he is trying to venture in to, also, about the over exhaustive flex of your e-muscle, obviously you are a cracker little bitch so save yourself the time and trouble of typing any type of response as it will ultimately just make you look like more of an idiot in our eyes. While we generally welcome shit talking, you sir, have failed miserably.  :noel:

Have a nice day and stay wednesday.

Give him a break. If he's asking for this info, he MUST be young. Everyone over the age of 20 will know a cx/hf manifold will work with an adapter.

Well naw i ain't young I've just never messed with turbos I've been building Hondas for about 11 or 12 years but I've always stayed away from forced induction its always been all motor and spray. I will be the first to tell you i know nothing of turbos. but do to the fact that i have a little girl and another one on the way Im looking for cheaper routes cause all motor is getting expensive. Now as far as hatchboy it ain't no sweat off my back haha. Im ok with a lil trash talk haha. Just don't get your.panties in a wad and we will be cool. Anyway the site is awesome and full of great info that is very helpful

:o Wow that is one clean rex. Very nice!! I've got one semi clean 91 si a de-riced 89 and a riced out 91hatch that my wife "just loves it the way it is"  so she drives it and an 05 accord. My problem is i can't stick it out with a project its like i get bored with it and sell it off or i sink.so.much money.in it that i don't even like it anymore. But yea I've never even thought off slapping a turbo on one but the idea is growing on me now. I really like how most off y'all keep.it real simple and effective it really makes sense
