Well, I pulled the trigger.  Megasquirt is on its way. It cost me $385.22 for everything I needed shipped. Now I get to test my soldering skills....lol

Well since my last post I've been hording parts....
Ms and most all the parts I need.


Picked up a couple of electric fans from the wrecking yard. First one is from a volvo. Alot like the taurus fan and the second one is a taurus fan






Then I took the heads and the rear cover and valve covers over to the local 4x4 shop because they have a parts washer and he said he would throw my greasy ass parts in and wash them for a cheese burger and a milkshake.







And then I realized that my fuel rail that I have is a returnless style. Well for what they want for the china rails i was able to pick this up for about half of the cost of the ebay return bling bling rails or a aftermarket fpr that I would have to t in and this even came with bolts........score whole thing for $40 shipped

And then I started looking for a throttle body, picked this up with sensors for $35 shipped.




That's it for now. Valve spring gs are over at my step dad's hose to see what springs I'm gonna use. Probably just the ls2 springs and throw some .030 shims under them for just a bump more holding power. Once I get them back I can start installing them back into the head and start assembly of the rest of the motor.

I love it! I just bought the same manifold & TB from ebay real cheap. I bought it just to make spacers for the medium LS2-sized & tall LS1-sized injectors. I'll let you know how it works out.

Lol. In a few weeks I'll have a little time to actually work on this thing. Hope to have updates soon. Trying to sell this k member. Everyone that says there gonna buy it keeps flaking or coming up short and wanting me to sell if for what it cost to ship it.



On that note
1. Need water pump
2. Need alternator
3. Need belt tensioner and belt
4. Need starter
5. Need bosch 044 fuel pump
6. Need torque converter for th400
7. Need 34 element sprag for th400
8. Need intercooler
9. Need injectors
10. Need charge pipe material
11. Need bov
12. Need wastegate
13. Need 4" exhaust material
14. Need 72mm turbo
15. Need oil feed and return lines
16. Radiator hoses/adapters
 And then i Need time to put this all together. I don't need everything on the list to make it run, but I sure would like to get most of it before I set it in for its last time.

Then before I put it in the car, I need to pull my 327 that's in the car and sell it. Pretty sure I have someone lined up to by my engine now but I think I might have low balled my self pretty bad on it. If he bails on the motor im sure I can sell it for more and pretty fast. Is $800 to little for a rebuilt 327 with less than 1500 miles on it complete from air cleaner to oil pan? It has .060 flat top pistons, camel hump 2.02/1.60 heads, single plane intake, 600 cfm Holley carb, and it tuned. New lifters, bearings, rings, valve stem seal, all new gaskets, new alt, new water pump, dizzy ect. it put down 200hp/300tq through a th400 and stock small ass cast iron exhaust manifolds and duel 2" exhaust. It get 19/20 mpg on the hwy too. And it burns clean as fuck.

Bought a low mileage water pump with tensioner and fan, and a alternator from the same lq4 for $114 shipped tonight. Supposedly have a guy lined up to buy a spohn k member I have on thursday. So if that sells I'll probably order up some hi profile injectors.

I'm stacking parts right now. It's like Christmas at my house with all the packages arriving.....Ok that's a little lie.

Mechanical fan, water pump, tensioner,  alternator, starter, fuel pump have all been ordered and have arrived or are arriving. Gonna pull the 327 next weekend and then that's gone, and I'll have some money to order up injectors, turbo and other parts.

Lq4 is almost together. Once I figure out what I'm doing with valve springs(most likely stock) then I can put my new valve steam seals in and slap the heads on and drop it in for mock up. Gonna do some trimming in the shock towers maybe, it's gonna get a ebay t72 72mm turbo(I know it's small but like said I want instaboost), and some Hiprofile injectors. I have a lot of parts piled up at the moment but it's all hinging on me dropping this thing in and starting the mock up.

I have never built an LSx personally, but everything I read, especially if you are going to add boost is to add a set of valve springs. I know the pac1218 springs are commonly recommended.

I've read that too. But just wondering if they are overkill for what I need. I don't really plan on reving this fucker out, or cranking the boost to the moon. I've seen lots of 100% stock boosted setup do fine with 12lbs. So im gonna give it a run. I have a set of ls2 valve springs but from what I've red they are almost identical to the lq4 springs that are in the 317 heads that I have. If they blow open under boost I'll just swap them out while it's in the car. Just going for bare minimum ring now to get it rolling and boosted.

Carb, shit I'm getting rid of the whole small block attached to it. Btw, u back from vacation yet? I need to pull my gas tank and bring it down to weld the sump pan on.

Well after talking to josh ross it sounds like a trunion upgrade is a must do on these rocker arms. So it looks like that's needed b4 some springs. Waiting for a guy to come pick up my 327 so I can buy some shit.

So instead of trunions I picked these up so I can get the head together enough so I can bolt them to the block and at least get the motor in the car. http://www.alexsparts.com/ls1-series-drop-in-valve-spring-kit-gen-iii-iv-vortec-hp-spring-kit/

Almost identical specs as the pac 1218 but they aren't beehives. And they come with keepers and retainers and locks.

Springs came in on saturday. Got a chance today to jump out into the garage and put the valves back in the heads.
Pics.........

Once I figured out what valve stem seal went on what stem (btw orange on exhaust and black on intake) it went together pretty quick.


Used this big ass compressor that I borrowed from my step dad. Works awesome.


Valves were in great shape..... or so I thought. This is what they looked like when I pulled them apart. Seats look great and so do the valves


So all the exhaust valves had this mark on them. It almost feels like a crack, but you can tell it's from the keeper. But it's weird that it's just on the exhaust valves.

here I tried to take a pic of specs but what ever
130 lb seat pressure
355 lbs at .590 lift
Max lift is .590


Installed and ready to go.




So my 327 is supposedly sold to a friend. He's suppose to pay me for it on thursday. I he doesn't pay me by Thursday then I'm going to sell it for almost double. (Long story) but once I get money I'm ordering so Hiprofile injectors and a turbo and the rocker arm trunions.

Then hopefully get the motor in next week.
