Motor swap no start
« on: July 29, 2012, 10:31:50 PM »

Ok, heres the rundown
89 integra all stock no wiring fuckuppery every thing in the car works just fine.
90 A6 swap with custom mounts but thats besides the point
Stock A1 harness used on A6
pm6 dizzy wired matching the factory harness wiring colors(using the stock plugs too just repinning accordingly)
Ran the ex. cam no1 tdc sensor to the pm6 sensor.
Pg7 ecu

Heres the problem umm it doesnt start. things checked so far
ICM(tested and good)
Coil
Wiring from dizzy plugs to shocktower to ecu all check out
everything has power that it should
Made sure the two white wires were not swapped
basically everything a sane person would do diagnosing a honda.
Even tried a NEW not reman dizzy.

I have not tried a different ecu but thats the only thing I can think of.
I have no spark and no injection.
Whats even stranger is that I crank long enough it will throw a code 8 (TDC Sensor) even with the new dizzy. Which i believe means the ecu knows the engine is turning just doesnt know where it is.

I am really stumped at this one because the car ran last year with the a1 in it.

any thoughts? I have personally never messed with a zc/a1,8,9 engines enough to know if there is some wiring strangeness about them.

Any help will get this car closer to a holset and 3/4 rippers.

The stock ecu from the teg should start it. Sounds like the ecu, no spark  and no fuel. Do you hear the pump prime? Is the t-start ground on, is the valve cover ground on, is the trans ground on?

T-stat ground ended up being the issue.  :noel:
