anyone use this shit? trying to find a basemap for a bbc 427 fucking this is driving me nuts. No one in my area has even heard of this
-
Yellow Bullet or JD.
-
First time hearing of this software. :noel:
-
Daspoop was talking to me a while ago about it
-
Basemap? Make your own basemap. Duh.
FYI you haven't stated anything remotely relevant to making a basemap for any standalone.
-
I know was just seeing if anyone had used it.
BBC 496
8 42lb injectors
Dyers 871-2
8.8:1 comp I believe
7al-2
Crank trigger
That about all I know
-
I'm thinking that isn't going to be anywhere near enough injector unless you are only wanting to make 550 crank hp or so.
-
make a long story short.
had a 16 injector bds dfi on it
craig at bds screwed me with a 8 injector bs3 system tells me to put 2 injectors to each clip
never ran since
googled injector # and all I find is lucas 164cc injectors
bs3 says $1200 to upgrade to a 16 injector system
run me around $600 for a new plate and 900cc's injector
I just want to here it run so I know it is at least functional
-
Or scrap all your ems shit. Sell your bs3 on ls1 tech, sell your injectors, buy a set of 8 900cc injectors from Hiprofile, and go with megasquirt. You will probably come out with some cash at the end too.

Though about selling the bs3 and going fast xfi

That is either a lateral step or a step back depending on how you look at it.
My vote would either be MS3 or FT500 if you want to spend some money.
-
Just been reading and the stuff I found says the xfi is more used friendly for idiots like me

If you want that the undisputed easy and great tech support is Holley.

so just went through and found I have 32lbs injectors 349cc/mm I guess but bs3 instruction have me confused as to what to enter in for primary fuel 349x8= 2792? According to bs3 instructions they say a 177lbs injector is 1770cc each unsure what is correct but seems like I am getting a good amout of fuel all injectors are wet or something with the ignition not firing. What would me a good plug gap for this thing I just checked one and it around .047? kinda big for 12psi?
-
.047 is pretty large. I would start around the .035 and see how it idles. I would imagine as long as you don't have some china pos coil it should still idle at .047
What do you have your base fuel pressure set at? How old is your fuel? Is your tps set? Post up some pics and a full list of mods so we can help diagnosis it. Need more info.
-
45psi fuel new 93 tps set correctly it now sounds like like no fuel mod list is above
-
What's your ignition setup? What's your base timing set at?
-
msd trigger 7al-2 Mallory race coil taylor 8.5 wires ngk plugs Base timing ha no clue. Drunk pops ripped everything apart with out checking where shit was set no cam card nothing
-
XFI 2.0 is a lateral step or an upgrade from BS3, actually. It is no easier nor more difficult than BS3 - same shit, same designer, some overhaul by FAST after Meaney left.
Regular 4 tooth magnetic crank trigger? Should be easy peasy. I've never set up a trigger for BS3 but $ to doughnuts it's the same as XFI. If you are in a pinch with setup, call Precision/PTE and say *your customer* purchased the BS3 from them and you have the honor of sorting it and making it run. They are pretty good about shooting you in the right direction at that point, although it's been some years since I've done that.
Holley HP/Dominator is the best solution if you want to ditch BS3... but, BS3 is pretty vanilla and simple, if you can't figure it out I do not think you will do any better with a different flavor.
-
Ya 4 mag pick up. That's kinda my though if I ditch it would I even know how to work the other. My big problem is getting the injectors set up not sure if I input the size for one injector or all 8 combined?
-
Fuck it try both. Not gonna do much but flood the motor.
-
Have tried both ways and nothing
-
Spray carb cleaner in throttle body, did it start? If not, spark/timing related.
-
Okay, you are over complicating it. Back to basics.
Fuel, fire, or compression? What ya missing?
-
Pretty sure fuel have fire check comp all good. If I use start fluid it will fire for a sec them nothing. Will not start at all with out fluid.
-
So its fuel. Let's see a screen shot of what your fuel map looks like.
-
Maybe a vid of when it tries to fire up also.
-
See what I can do
-
Decrease the size of the injectors in the EMS, or increase the fuel map, by 10-20% per try. Once it begins to start, go one-two more steps then warm it up and log AFR's.
Just don't constantly try the starting fluid. It tends to induce heavy knocking from a higher burn rate and much lower auto-ignition temp (or something like that).
-
Will do waiting for a check them I am ordering 8 900cc from ya just have to figure out how to hold them in the plate
-
Pretty sure Steve Morris has a how to video on BS3
