Why the fuck are you using those rods?
-
Do yourself a favor and go get a HF $120 mig welder. Then go to the local welding supply store and get some name brand fluxcore wire. Stick welding 16 gauge material is not easy.
-
god damn what is wrong with you guys, always trying to weld the rustiest metal together. your welds would go so much easier if you just took a fucking wire brush to the metal for like 30 sec.
-
80% prep, 20% welding.

iron oxide(rust) is non-conductive

becuase i dont know what kind of metal i was welding and was under the impression that 6011 was kind of a general purpose multi metal welding rod

the flange rusted after i welded. i used my welding hammer/brush every time i started a new weld

i think i maybe worse than buk
Well at least your two pieces seem to be fused together. Buk just burns holes in shit.
And lol at basketball jackstand. C is for Safety! (https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.totalwar.org%2Fvb%2Fimages%2Fsmilies%2Fgc%2Fgc-dunce.gif&hash=0ac8ef89148426a62819563afe4a8c7631ffcc45)

in all seriouness the basketball was kicked under there when mowing the lawn. the reason why the jackstand was not under it is becuase i had them on the fron lower rad support and it got in the way of putting the bumper back on there is a jack under the car on the driverside seam. and yes those tires are fucked they were put on to moved the car is all and have since been replaced. ill start a build thread on this pos when its done or almost done

find the smallest 6013 rods you can. they fill holes better, and the smaller the diameter the lower amps you can run which leads to less holes.
shit looks aweful. good work
