Anyone have a link to a list of stock wastegate actuator opening pressures?
I am running one that came from an SVO turbo, and dunno what it should be opening at. Just finished up the bulk of the install, but still need to install a boost gauge.
Also, anyone know the proper way to adjust the length of the actuator rod. I have read that 1/8" to short is about right.
It's pretty fun so far, but still slow as hell in the grand scheme of things.

Apparently it is a 4 psi actuator because that is all I can get out of it at the moment.

rhmt MBC turned to nog = real fun
FYI soemone has a 2-stage TurboXS mbc in the classifieds atm.

Haha. I built an MBC shortly after that post. Still haven't cranked it to "eleven" yet though.

real men pull the vac line off the actuator

real men pull the vac line off the actuator
I drove it to the shop like that to finish up the install.
I had boost cut set at 9.3 psi though. Open DP sounds killer.

Lols, I did that with a .60/.63 T3 on a 11.5 z6 with no boost guage. There were two nipples on the actuator and i didnt cap the 2nd one. i ran it to redline a handful of times, I have no idea what it boosted, only thing that happened was the headgasket blew. Im guessing 30-40psi?

Do you need to cap the second nipple on a wastegte? I have mine uncapped right now, but i havent driven it yet

No you leave it open unless your running an ebc.

Thats what i thought just making sure

The svo's had a low/high octane switch on the console. Low i know is 9psi, and I THINK high was 12.

Er it wasnt the nipple on the wastegate, it was a dual nipple coming from the compressor housing, i didnt cap one and ran the other to the wastegate, shit i dunno i forget it was years ago. i hooked up a boost guage after that and it instantly ran to 20psi before 4500 rpm and still climing. Engine made some loud pops, thought it blew up, threw it int another gear and it was still running.

But yes, it is a 9psi gate.

Interesting.
Never saw that.
-
i only saw about 7.5 psi with slight adjustment of the fabulous hardware store MBC at the gate with my ghetto rigged vacuum/fuel pressure gauge teed in.
Still need to get a boost gauge installed.
