So the time has come for me to get a differant transmission. Im running a stock 91 ls transmission right now with the small imputshaft, and a lsd dragger clutch with the street disk. (not the 6 puck) Now im picking up a rebuilt 92 transmission out of a Ls for $200 and now of course i need to get a 92+ disk and I was just wondering if i could use a oem disk and it still hold as well as my lsd disk? Im also wanting to switch to the 92+ tranny for just the reason of interchangeabilty between they hydro tranny parts and the 92 and 93 parts.

Just call up LSD he'll hook you up for a good price. The oem disk is alright if your N/A add bost and that thing will dissapear.

A new 6 puck disc is around 100 from Mike.

Well I called them like I should have in the first place, and he told me that the dragger with the street disk is just that. Stock style disk and all the extra holding power comes from the pp.

I think the better question is why are you using an ls trans.

well do to the fact that i will have to eather run 9k in 4th in the 1320, or go into 5th at about the 1000' mark. so the vtec trans is a nogo for me.

Yeah I know a few guys that have run 120's with LS heads. That seems to be the biggest downfall of them. You can't rev as high as the vtec heads and have to run an LS trans.

On the up side the LS transmissions are about half the price as all the rest.

I could but still with the final swaped to a ls, it puts me at around 115-118mph in 4th at 7500rpms.

Why when this one, that i just picked up with the transmission looks pretty good. I talked the guy down to 200 from his asking price of 300 =)

They are fine to 8K, with cams/valvetrain. You can't rev the VTEC heads much further, very often, or they fall apart.

even at 8k it would be cutting it close. Im only coming up with about a max of 122mph @8k with the gsr trans, and 126mph @8k with the jdm y1.
But this trans I just picked up looks pretty good. Ill snap some pics of the guts once I get time on monday.

Ive heard that tom is coming up with a adapter to run the k trannys with the b motors. Have you heard the progress on this prototype yet?
