Title: so i might be getting a promotion?
Post by: 97Econobox on March 25, 2009, 08:49:15 AM: OK so ive been working at this IT/Telemarketing place for 3 years as a Junior admin monkey basically and about a month ago my boss literally up and died. She was cool we butted heads a few times over her methods but we found a common ground and i liked her. She was 46 had a touch of asthma and got walking pneumonia one day so she was out for a week. well the end of the week came and she sounded worse with a lot of shit in her chest she was coughing up. So then 2 days later she called me sounded great i figured shed be to work the next day. 12 hours after that call she couldn't breathe and hollered out to her son who called the ambulance and she stopped breathing before they could get there. She was pretty much brain dead after that. 46 years old with 2 kids and i just talked to her on the phone. Fucking crazy.

So ive sorta had to really get a hold of myself lately cause work still goes on and i have to step up and now her job has been posted. its sort of bittersweet applying for it i mean who doesnâ€™t want a 10K a year raise but of course no one wants to lose a friend.

Cliff notes: If your boss is cool and really looks after your best interest show appreciation to them cause sometimes getting promotions sucks just as much as they rock.
