Title: Identify this flange...
Post by: phillyd on March 07, 2009, 02:39:02 PM
Pretty sure it is not a T4...it looks too square: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120386247789&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem= (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120386247789&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=)

So any ideas?

it's not t4.

holset 't4' flanges are off by 1/4" on bolt holes.  you COULD just dremel them and use a t4 flange though (dimensions are fine in width, not height)

So will the ports on the manifold and the turbine housing match up correctly? I would just need to worry about getting the bolt holes lined up?

it's 3.5 for width spacing instead of 3.25 iirc..

the port is pretty much the same size though

this is roughly what it came from, too.

Good info, thanks!

Does this schematic apply to all Holset T4 flanges?

Look near the end of Garrett's turbo catalogue for 2009 (2nd half), they list 3-5 types of T4/diesel flanges in it. Its hard to see because they imported such low-quality pics in, but you can guess at most spots.

holset doesn't have a t4 flange, but yes the flange that LOOKS like a t4 is as what i've stated.

h1c is t3, 1d and 1e, 2d 2e etc are holset ''t4'' flange

I picked up a Holset H1E...is has a 'real' T4 flange...:

your measurements are wrong if you think that is t4, your bolt pattern is the OD of the t4 flange size, not the actual t4 bolt pattern.  :dunce:

The T4 schematic you posted is measured from the middle of each bolt hole...my measurements were taken the same way. How are my measurements wrong?
