I have shit motor mounts. They are the 3rd set, and have broken 2 factory exhaust manifolds (once and the primaries-flange, this time the collector flange), and one header 3 times (twice at the primaries-flange, and once at the 4-1 collector). So I got another header (old one got trashed by mistake), and am making some solid mount tomorrow.
Also slated for tomorrow is a eBay XTD 6 puck, unsprung clutch. Somehow the stocker managed to not fly apart after 115k and 2 shoe boxes full of timeslips. It's chattering now, so why not go kinda big with it? Also upgrading to a fidanza flywheel when I can get the money for it.
Pics:
Old manifold (that flange is supposed to be attached to the manifold)

Flame suit on for lack of positive pressure

ok :mexi:

i give that clutch a week at most
ebay clutches suck ..the only decent ebay clutch in my mind is the xtd clutches
run one in my civic on 8lbs and it held fine

I'll agree my XTD stage 3 clutch has outlasted two engine, 6 cv-axles and a 2 sets of tires during auto-x, DD, and some street racing.
BTW the OP said he is running a XTD clutch.
And to the the OP fidanza flywheels are over priced junks I'd get the XTD chromemoly flywheel (if they have one for your car).
The XTD flywheels have worked great for me (as long as you are using own in a light car) :?:

oh god its a Spec V. Burn it!

I still have a copy of the Anime that Nissan put out called "Master of Sixth Speed" it was distributed with SS, D-sport, Sport Compact and some other mags. ;D
Great music on there.

I used to have a copy, never got around to actually watching it....
I read up on the cheap ass clutches before I bought it. I haven't really come across anyone that said anything negative about them, other than their logo design looks like it was made by a retarded 3rd grader. Seriously, it does.
And why would I burn it? With preventive maintenance, the QR is a great platform.
As for the flywheel choice, I'm not choosing it for the namebrand (obviously, or I wouldn't have bought an xtd clutch..) I'm gonna run it because It's the lightest for the engine, and I can get it for $299 shipped new. The next up in price is clutchmasters at over $500. Fuck that. I'm not worried about of the line inertia too much, as (for a n/a 4cyl) these make plenty of torque. It still may hurt me with slicks and higher rpm dumps, but roll racing will make up for that.

My boys got one and he gets all pissy when i remind him my Honda Pilot is quicker.
-
bring that pilot, as it sits, here.

Ebay clutches aren't all bad. It's probably hit or miss just like the chinese turbos. I ran one for over 4 years.
-
Looks like spraypainted OEM pressure plate. Good luck with it.
Weld the mounts solid if you go through that many :noel:
-
Where is the turbo?

That's the plan, gotta fill the tank for the welder first. O0

+1 My ebay 6 puck on the miata has lasted 30k so far. Holds strong.
-
holy batman resize those pics...
btw is that a socket stuck on the header flange nut?
i also agree the xtd clutches rock.. 16 lbs and mine holds fine, even after basically no break in..
-
Yes, i had to smash a 13mm on there. It was too far stripped. I think I'm gonna rock it.

If you read up on clutches, many after market clutches ARE stock pressure plates. Some just have an upgraded or dual diaphragm.
Scroll down to "Manufacturing, design, and assembly flaws"

I like the part where it says affected motors could eventually lead to a fire...

Yeah those motors love to drink oil, shit alts, don't really make a lot of power but the fan base is loyal. M boys got one with like 60K on the clock andd its on motor no 2. already drinking oil and on its 3rd alt, love the body style but wouldnt rock one.
-
They had/have an issue with the precat built into the exhaust manifold breaking up and coming apart. Then when reversion happens, it gets sucked back in the motor. If you take care of the issues (the cat, loc-titing the butterfly screws in the intake) it's a reliable motor. Bypass the overly sensitive knock sensor and it will be consistent. I don't use oil, have 190psi on all cylinders, and will run 14.0's all day. I know it's not fast but for and intake, header, and exhaust and a 4 door it's not a bad time. It should be mid 12's after tax time.

My XTD stage 3 started coming apart, like so...(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi302.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fnn93%2Fhot_rod_lincoln_8%2FIMG_0079.jpg&hash=639c28a638523f0af8d8138aa06bf019a9fca907)
but it has never slipped, i actually put it back in the car till i get a new flywheel to go with my LSD dragger...
and this is in a heavy ass accord with a "torquey" (for what it is) 2.2 making around 400hp..
-
Shit, maybe I'll have better luck than that...Honestly thats the first negative thing I've seen about them.
-
on a positive note it dosent slip.... just isnt so aesthetically pleasing...
