Title: frost plug on a 93 accord
Post by: Travis on January 25, 2010, 09:12:28 PM
i got offered to pick up a one of these fuckers for $1 USD/$300 CAD, but the frost plug leaks. Could I just jb weld the whole thing or would there be an issue since its an aluminum block?

well it sounds like its leaking a bit, so what if i just drain the coolant, and slop the fuck out of it? does jb weld stick to cold aluminum?

Don't the plugs on an F series just screw in and seal with a crush washer?

Should just screw in with a crush washer, like stated b4. Replace washer and done.

Honda's don't have frost or freeze plugs.

Block drain plugs, yes.

If you leave water or a weak antifreeze mix and it gets cold, the water pump will crack, almost like a burst panel.

Frost/freeze plugs don't really exist.

Core plugs do exist though.  They sure do make it a lot easier to get the sand out of a sand cast block after casting.
