Title: ??'s on how to get basemaps w/o going to xeno
Post by: jarebear667 on February 08, 2010, 04:39:17 PM
im just saying that i dont have the tools to do it. or knowledge and would like find someone that i can purchase one from to get back up to shane at db.

i have had an e85 car. my H series hatch shane from db did it for me a year ago.
h22 t-62 turbo 525 hp pull e85 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vcwczhw7vo#normal)
and  sorry i used the wrong term with the G series
its just the H/F hybrid and i dont know a lot about this N/A shit. like when you are wide open do you want to be like 12:1-11.5 like boost or can i be leaner? say 13 or 14 which i dont think would be right since its high c/r and you are putting a good load on it.

is it okay to use 91 pump on a 11:1-12:1 c/r motor?
it doesnt sound safe so i was wantin to throw e85 back in it.

Basemaps are not hard to create, there are several writeups on how to DIY.  If you are confused by it and are worried about whether or not it'll run correctly, well, fielding a basemap from myself or some other asshole is just as crappy.  That's why you don't drive around on basemaps, you load it up and start tuning right then.

11.5:1, without camshaft overlap, is considered the reasonable limit on pump gas.  If the engine lopes due to cam profile you can go a little further with compression.  The problem is the engine becomes volatile under low rpm loads and wants to ping, and yanking timing in that area is only good for so much.

If Shane is tuning your car, why not get a basemap from him?

i dont get this.  People want to come onto the internet and pay for random fucking basemaps when their tuner will likely give them one for free as long as they have a tuning appointment scheduled.

I don't get why they come onto the internet to buy a basemap that runs like shit when they can follow a how to guide and in under five minutes make their own basemap that runs equally crappy.

Stock ECU, MAP, and injectors are wonderful for that.  That's how we started up TA's car last night, and he's the dude painting my own cars that i don't want to piss off.
