I have the opportunity to pick up a running 87 crx right now for 500 bucks or whatever i can bargain him down to...needs some body work, and its carbureted. However, it does get 40 mpg...would you guys pick it up? ???

Maybe pick it up and hold it for JD...just not sure if its worth picking up to do an efi swap

JD will probably beat you and steal the keys for that thing... then drive it to your mothers house for a consolation prize. I paid $500 for 2 1g's, Si and DX, neither one ran either. $350 for a running car is a pretty good deal. The 1g's are fuel efficient little beasts. I'm working on one right now. Build thread coming soon.

talk him down to 300, no more. The carburetor mess on those will make you want to shoot yourself in the face and fist your own mother. Do the EFI swap. You need to swap the tank, run a supply fuel line and use the current fuel line for the return. Other then that not to ridiculous.

If its just a car to drive why not. Im sure you can get a downdraft weber on one of the stock manifolds. There also was a couple oem jdm manifold/carbs that were on zc's that were either downdraft or sidedrafts. The jdm d15b sohc's came with the sidedrafts too

I've seen a factory carb mainfold ported all to shit and milled out and tapped to take a 2 bbl holly once.

He called me today, said he's had 5 people interested, but they all want him to hold it for 2 weeks....he's asking 600 on craigslist, but called me and told me to come get it...gonna start at 250 cuz he only put 100 into it. It was given to him, so i don't think he really cares.

Ya, figured the swap wouldn't be too hard, and if i decide not to do it, it still gets better mpg than anything else i own lolz

I've never owned an hf... as we only had the SI, DX and some other shit model in canada. Mine was a Dx and it never got anything better than 28-30mpg even with :mexi:-overdrive all the way down the university hill everyday.

Your DX CRX only got up to 30mpg? I hope that's city if not it must have ran like crap. My 97 Prelude was getting 30-32mpg on the high way.

My tired SI averaged 30s, but most of my driving is highway between 50-65mph.

I'm not a "Honduh fagg" but I'd scoop that car for three hundo. Shoehorn a 4G63 in it, or turn it into a tranny breaker. Either way, if you don't want it after a couple days, retard timing, get it through emissions and sell it to some middle-age death metal fan for 2-3 times as much. Jew
