Title: any dodge mechanix?
Post by: 1fasthf on February 11, 2010, 01:30:51 PM
well first things first my father inlaw is a fuckin idiot! he has a 04 dodgeram 1500 w/ the v6
he pulls up to the gas station to fill up on gas and leaves it running puts a little gas in and the truck starts sputtering

so he brings it to me, i have NO clue about dodges... at idle the thing runs like shit sputtering, give it a lil gas and it sounds like a misfire somewhere... he was getting a code about the o2 sensor, replaced it! still does the same thing

any help would be appreciated, tired of this fuck leaving everythign up to me

Codes about the O2 sensor mean that O2 sensor readings are fucked, that doesn't mean the sensor itself is.  I know it's difficult for you but this problem can be solved by basic common sense.

Failure to tell us exactly what the code(s) is means you just wasted the time of everyone who clicked on this thread.

How about you delete this shit, do five minutes work and five minutes research not including the time it takes to download some service literature, and try again when you can meet us in the middle?

Its the Hydrafluxing coilspring.  Ive seen em fail a thousand times.  Pop a new one in make sure its topped off with fluid and it should run fine.

If it were mine I'd need an OBD2 scantool that can deliver datastreams, and fifteen minutes.

ya thats what i was thinkin, its hard to find shops around here that have the tool your talkin about, autozone said they only have the code reader, but you do the ignition trick it tells u the codes on the dash.....  ill search a few shops and see

I use an old Auto X-ray code reader and it data stream most sensors and some data sampling for 30sec at a time.

I only use it on my '96 Previa and clearing codes for my neighbors or friends when a Vatozone, O'reilys, Napa and repair shop will not clear. ;D

I'd loan it if had any guarantees of getting it back. ;D

You should admit to him you are nothing more then a fucking failure who has the IQ of a garbage bag full of still born babies and couldn't fix a bmx let alone a flaming pile of shit Dodge. Next take it to someone who has at least the mental capacity of a lake trout and have them use the proper tools and literature necessary to repair it.

the scantool at the advance near me is pretty good.  If I remember it lets you monitor a bunch of parameters while its running.  They loan it to you for free.  I use it on every car I come across that's acting screwy.

Sounds like a faulty MAF reading for some reason.  It is kind of hard to know what is gong on without seeing what data the ECU is receiving as well as fuel pressure.

Do you live in the middle of nowhere or something?  Any shop worth two shits should have an scan tool capable of viewing datastreams.

didn't think about that.  either this or the Hydrofluxing Coilspring.  one or the other.

What fuel did he put in it? Probably pulled up to the pump down at the side of the parking lot pumping Kerosene it in wondering why this pump was all alone. Is he paying you for it? If not I would just say I couldn't figure it out and let him waste his time and money.

And if you remove the cap while running, it will cause an evap error, but I've never heard of throwing off an 02 reading. Do work son.
