Its a late 90's honda civic with the d17 failpile and manual transmission. The clutch won't disengage (or at least I think thats the problem). You can shift into gears when the car is off and clutch is in, but you have to start it in neutral or it grinds like hell. If the car is running you can't shift it into gear. Theres plenty of fluid in the clutch resevoir, and it didnt look like anything was leaking at all, and the guy that was driving said it felt like the clutch pedal was harder to push than it was before it was fucked. Could it be the slave cylinder? The only time I've had a slave cylinder fail it started losing fluid everywhere and lost pedal pressure. I was thinking maybe the clutch release arm or whatever its called popped off? Or the throwout bearing is fucked? What does it sound like to you?

sounds like a fucked up clutch to me. drive it without the clutch.

I had something like that happen once. The springs on the clutch hub were broken.

D17 not a option in 96-00 Shitvics.....
Clutch spit a spring, sounds like a common B series failure

ah must be the next generation up then. It's ugly whatever it is. Hope its not the clutch... don't feel like pulling a transmission in the snow in a driveway
