I just ordered off of egay a set of 0.5mm o/s valves. (got the for a uber cheap price) ;D  :noel: Jew
I'm wondering if need to replace the valve seats or do I just have the valve seats cut for the o/s valves?
-
You can have them cut to suit with a small o/s like that. You can even retain them with 1mm o/s but your machinist better be a ninja; if you thin the inside of the seat too much to open it up, the seat will pop out of the head during operation and fuck your day.
Hope they aren't KMS/Supertech/china in a silver foil bag for B-series as those just break.
Drop me an email, if your machinist is willing to follow another man's directions I've got something very cool for you.

The whole point of oversize valves is so you can open up the seat/throat to get flow up. Pretty shitty to spend money on valves/machine work and not open them up as much as possible. (I've rebuilt cylinder heads, cut 3 and 5 angle valve jobs properly, etc)

i dont think he is talking about the bottum cut. thin/improperly installed seats are the only ones i've ever seen fall out.
