I never understood why someone would cut up a perfectly good scooter to replace 99% of the parts on it. ??? I think it would be cheaper and easier to start from scratch.

some people have too much time and money..?
just ran accross it, i was lookin for one my younger brother turns 14 in march and wants one i had one when i was 14 too. bought one brand new in 2004 pretty nice to get around for sure! wish they had this shit when i had one! 50-60mph would have been tits i know some yamaha's would do it "jog" but the 2 cycle wasnt as good on fuel and reliable as the liquid cooled 4cycle honda. imo.

I think he said it had something to do with it staying street legal. Its probably easier to register it as a "modified scooter" than a "custom motorcycle"

You can stamp a VIN number on a new frame, you don't need to cut up the whole bike. Then you'd have a 2 "street legal" bikes (its not like that thing is street legal anyways with the 450 motor in it) :-\
I'm looking for a clean scooter title and frame so I can stamp them on my minibike when its done to ride it around on the street. Cooler than a Ruckus:

There is some really cool fab work in that thread, along with some average fab. But the outrigger setup of the engine, which has to be counter weighted on the opposite side with a NOS bottle cut and filled with weight, just doesn't strike me as a well planned out vehicle. I will withhold final judgement until it is completed. So far it has kind of a bloated Judge Dredd feel to it...
