Title: 91 hatch want tach.
Post by: b20accord on February 17, 2010, 11:19:41 PM
I just bought a beater 91 hatch and it has no tach. I pulled a cluster out of a ef in the junkyard hoping adding the tach was a plug and play deal. So is it? What do i need to do to get it to work? I did try pluggin it in and the tach didnt work. So tell me that im a dumbass and that shit wont work..

I think you have to swap a few pins.

You just plug the new cluster right in. I never did any wiring on mine when swaping clusters. Maybe your a dumbass for not trying hard enough to fidure this out?

with all the differences in 88/89/90-91 wiring, you are on your own.

My 89 HF has a 91 Si cluster in it, bought it that way :)

Well bust out a honda service manual and learn stuff. seriosuly don't be fucking retarded, find the correct cluster or do the wiring.

Where are you gonna find all these service manuals?????

You will need to be smart enough to trace out the wiring, THANKFULLY the CRX I bought was already done correctly. After meeting with Gus who built the CRX......I'm glad I bought it from his nephew. He is an aircraft engineer....perfection is his goal.

Well for one if he can't find the correct year to make it a plug and play job then finding wiring diagrams is the next step. One could google sir cluster conversions and find lots of write up's on wireing in the sir cluster.

this is not hard, it just takes a bit of brain power.

EDIT:

link to identifiying between the 88-89 and 90-91.
