Whats up guys! I have a question, I did a budget turbo build and used an Stainless Steel ebay manifold, after about 8 months now it is starting to crack... go figure, I knew this was going to happen eventually but I figured I would have found someone with a tig or might have purchased a tig on my own by now... That is not the case unfortunately. I have a little Lincoln weldpack 110v mig, Is there any type of wire I can use to weld this stainless steel myself? I can't listen to this horrible exhaust leak anymore and it is definately hurting spool time. Also I am not using any shielding gas at the moment, am I going to need some? Im honestly dont care if it looks like shit when Im done just as long as it seals the crack and doesn't leak anymore...

Thanks for any help guys!

308 or 309 SS wire with 100% argon is what you want. Grind off that BS coating and weld away.
Where do you live? You may have a member local to you that can fix it with a TIG if you like bling bling welds.

Hey thanks! I live in Colorado Springs CO
Can I weld this without any gas? or do I have to have gas to do this?

I live in Englewood but my buddy and I own a weld/fab shop, he can fix that up for ya like a jiff, we've welded 3 of these manis up and our welds never broke again but the ching chong meow ones did, and yes you need ss wire and argon, or you can try to birdshit it and hope like hell that when you look at it, it does'nt fall off :P...

There is fluxcore stainless wire out there. I haven't used it though.

smallest I can find is a 10lb. spool... $80+shipping is a bit much for something you'll probably never use again...

drill holes in the ends of the crack before you weld it so it doesn't spread further.
