Title: D15Z1 budget turbo setup
Post by: Rustang on March 03, 2010, 01:41:55 PM
Hi. I've searched google and haven't found the answer I'm looking for, so thought I'd post.

I love my 94vx. Such great mileage, honda is Genius.

Is it possible to inexpensively [junkyard?] boost it without hurting the gas mileage? Keep the 12 valve system, map below 4k, etc.. I was hoping for 150-175+ rwhp. I'm older and just want to make it a little more fun to drive on occasion. (:

Have you seen any sites/threads on this?

Thanks.

Not possible.  I have never seen anybody do it before.  To get 150-175 Rwhp is going to take a lot of work and money.  Goodbye

oczc has kits for this build for 400 shipped. Makes 190 whp at 2400 rpm's and still gets 53 mpg. OCZC is God.

OCZC is God.

Are you for real? How do I find OCZC? I googled and just see their rods mentioned in some posts.

If you can't take some mild abuse intended to weed out people that can't take some mild abuse, then you are correct and this isn't the site for you.

Check out some other builds, see how they did things, post porn (I see you already did that :?: well-played, sir), ask some questions with more substance than "can I turbo my Honduh," and you'll be fine...

Oh, and if you can refrain from spooling the turbo every chance you get (which may be difficult to resist), you shouldn't notice any difference in mileage.

If you're just wanting 150-175hp, throw in a little nitrous and be done with it...I'm sure you're aware there are plenty of NA honda 4-bangers that put out more power than that...

That's some top notch porn, for a Mustang guy.
