Title: new gift to me
Post by: keelay on March 06, 2010, 08:18:45 PM
I finally ordered some HID's for the car, from DDM Tuning. I got the 9007 hi/low's and the I can't remember for the fogs. All for $98 shipped, with the wiring harness. Got the headlights installed today, and they look great. Visibility is great, and it's just now dusky, so in a few I'll get to see how they are in the dark. For $60 for the headlights, everyone should buy these mother fuckers. Just wish they had a 2k for the fogs...pics coming later tonight.

I got the 35w 6k's for the headlights and fogs. Pics are just halogens in the fogs, but were the same as the headlights before.
And they are in the stock housings, just had to notch the retaining ring for the wire snout on the hid bulb.

I took the pics with flash, then no flash, just to see how much the camera flash would wash out the color and brightness. Look good even with a flash.

How is that contaminated? You even hit deer? I'd rather see than not. There not ricer blue, just 6k. Nothing higher than what comes in factory models.

Usually, when you hit a deer, he is not chilling in the center of the road. He cross the road while you pass and you can't react.

Eh, I've got them aimed conservatively low. If it's a problem, I will find some projector housings.

Anytime Im waiting at a light and someone with these things pulls up behind me in the rex blinding me, I just wanna take my gun out the glove box and start firing at them till I think they're dead or I knock out their lights.

What everyone is trying to say is that even with them pointing down they just throw a glare everywhere. Have your friend drive your car ate you and you will see what we all are talking about.

I know what you are talking about, and while tolerable, it can be annoying. I guess I'm gonna be on the lookout for some projector housings.

Deer actually run in front of cars because their own shadow spooks them. Brighter lights just let you honk the horn and start praying sooner. Hlaf the deer accidents in my family have been deer literally hitting the car's side. They hide and jump out as you get very close. The brighter the light, the sooner they will bolt - meaning you'll hit them head-on rather than on your fender/door.

Although more expensive, projectors are really the only way to go. I've been considering them since half the cars around here have HID's that cast a shadow around me. You can get the basics for $150 on fleabay with OEM bulbs - just used. THey have a 5-7 year life so it's not a problem.

To be baller, which I want to do, it's ~$360 for a complete FX35/"FX-R" bi-xenon kit that you just have to hack into your housings and plug in like a normal 900x connector.

I'm wanting to do something like that, I just need to pony the money up

Save up for when your QR25 shits the bed first. Don't need headlights if the bearings are gone...

So does everyone else but unfortunately since you have HID's no one else will.
