Title: Generator turbo ID please

a friend is looking at a turbo for his 6.0L LSX type build and has this sitting on his bench, lol he thinks its big i guess... Anyone recognize what it is?

tell him to just run it and see what happens.  I don't understand people wanting to identify their turbos if they already have them.  if he's really concerned he could measure the compressor and turbine wheels and get a guess at the turbo's ability.

I did mention your add to him.

tell him to just run it and see what happens.  I don't understand people wanting to identify their turbos if they already have them.  if he's really concerned he could measure the compressor and turbine wheels and get a guess at the turbo's ability.

He's a slow old man so it'll likely be a while till he gets back to his office to measure the thing.  but the inlet didn't look too huge... no bigger than the width of a beer bottle anyways.

i told him to measure as if he was trying to measure the dia of the wheel he could see in each side; here is what he came up with.

3" inlet
3-7/8"  ex

98mm exhaust exducer

is it a divided housing?

still sounds perfect, chuck 'er on and engage noggle switch  O0

Look at the turbine pic, it's got 2 obvious humps to be divided.

My friend's ls1 has an undivided t78 iirc, and it spools around 3k. Even with ginormous exhaust parts, a lsx with a divided manifold would still spin that shit fast.
