Eh, unfortunatly I don't know much more about it than what's posted.  I know he's running AEM EMS now.

He's a buddy of mine from AL and I've since moved to SC so I wasnt able to get my hands on it at all. :(

Where the fuck are you at?

Still in greenville?

There are ALOT of kat and sr swapped 240's rolling around close to where i live.

ALOT.  None of them drift though.   Most are like 5 different colors and are missing the front bumper too!

Its a 2jz in a 240. Not much you can't guess.

From what I saw (didn't READ all 23 pages) its 'just' the 2jz with the 240's rearend parts, AEM, and better intake. Looks pretty cool, but I'd expect more than 10.2 - weight reduction next?

next step is an APC fire extinguisher.  I'm telling him to get the anodized blue look to contrast with the car's paint he wants to get one color matched.  I believe we both have good arguments but time will tell what direction he chooses to go in.

There is NOTHING better in south cack.

That's why it's called south cack.

It's the cack.   SC sucks.

I've been doing some homework on a jz motor in an fc.

I'm far from finished but what i got is:

1jzgtte with harness and ecu (no trans, stock twins)
R154 5 speed (dirt cheep)
Tech 2 driveshaft
Tech 2 shifter extention
Tech 2 speedo conversion cable
Supra radiator.

Rest of it is fab and wiring but i've found help in that.  Trying to keep my budget under $3k.

There are haters but i dont really post on rx7 club all that more. Alot of assholes and purists.

I dont know why more people haven't done the swap.  There are around 10 guys that have done this in their fc's that i know of.  Alot of fd's have the swap and more and more 240's are going this route over the rb motors due to availability and ease of obtaining parts.  Not to mention there is no fixing any of the oiling issues with the rb motors b/c the jz series is damn near perfect.  It's not like it's an expensive swap either..........

R154 is weak.

I tried to tell him, but he's afraid of the slush0matic.

I give Hampton's fresh R154 two days after making 600+.  And he's not a kid who beats on the car.

R154's eat shift forks for breakfast.  Cast aluminum isnt self lubricating...

However, if your making an adapter for the 1UZ anyway, a tremec from a newer mustang probably wouldnt be a bad idea.  Dont know how much those go for nowadays though.

Shift forks are beside the point.  Hammy sheared first gear, the whole transmission will fall out under power.
